If you recall, the Mr. and I published a Qik video earlier in the week in which we took a look at some of the NXE additions for avatars. Two days ago it was announced that Tokidoki apparel and accesories will become available– and again, although I find paying for electronic clothing silly, I’m a sucker for cute. Since the Mr. and I are part of the beta releases, we took a look into for you. You’ll see both women’s and men’s apparel and accesories.

A couple weeks ago a friend started using Qik, a live-streaming video program. I quickly realized that it would be a very useful tool to use on the site (especially during events), and therefore, the Mr. and I have opened up our accounts and hope to live-stream cool stuff for you guys to check out.

To test out the live streaming, we thought we would take a look at the Xbox 360’s latest NXE (New Xbox Experience) update which will be available to ALL users on August 11th. If you recall from this year’s E3 Conference, the 360 dashboard was going to have a lot of goodies intergrated into it, including Twitter. Although those bigger changes won’t be available until later this year, you can tell the Mr. and I are already having fun with the random trinkets our avatars get to hold.

So, what’d you do this weekend? I don’t normally post about the weekend, but I feel like I’m beginning to fall behind on posting again and I thought it best to share bits of my life. This weekend I went through an emotional roller coaster. I fulfilled the role of “invasive girlfriend!” bah!! Oh wells, you live and learn, and hopefully move on, right?

Aside from that though, part of my anticipation for the weekend was due to my Mr. receiving his Xbox 360 Dashboard update email. If you’re a 360 owner you probably were aware that the dashboard will very soon be transformed into something much sleeker and chic. Woohoo! Well, some people got “upgraded” sooner so it wouldn’t cause a black out when everyone gains access. You can click on the image above for a larger version. That’s my avatar hanging out on the right side of the screen. I must admit that I love the changes and strangely enough, I really love my avatar.

The avatar function is similar to that of the Wii’s. There is limited control of what you can and cannot change, and I wish I could make my gal just a bit chubbier, but I love that part of my personality is represented in her. The rest of my weekend was spent playing the Left 4 Dead demo. The game will officially be released this Thursday with a $59.99 price tag. I’m a fan of zombies, this is true, but since I started dating my Mr., my love for them has definitely increased. The game is a survival co-op game and the goal is clearly to survive the swarms of zombies and infected mutants that are trying to have your guts for dinner. I normally don’t play these games with my Mr. because I have issues with the dual stick controls, but I want to kill zombies so bad that it doesn’t matter. I can’t wait to spend more time on it next weekend. Are any of you getting it?

Little Big Planet will also be arriving any day this week, so that’ll be a reason to turn on the PS3 this upcoming weekend too. I don’t think I’ve been excited for video games in a while and this does not include the Ninjatown game for the DS. Finally, I closed the Kozik Merry Mini Bomb Set giveaway. Eric_Gentleman was the winner and he so happens to be a buddy of mine on twitter so I feel quite psyched to be sending him something. Kaws, you know, vinyl artist extraordinaire, brings us photos of a special gift he just got from R*. Am I excited for GTA IV? Not really. Mostly because I’ve never really sat down and played it, but I do enjoy the art and seeing what’s been done with the latest edition, I may just have to sit and play. I must admit that the trailers are superb and they’re doing a great job with the viral marketing.
