Wordpress 2.7, How I Love You

This “love” word, I use it many times on this blog– but have you ever asked yourself whether I mean it or not? I mean, how does one love something like the latest update for Wordpress? I’ll tell you how, it gets a total makeover and makes my life easier, you really can’t go wrong with something like that. =)

I’ve included that screen capture above so you can see the dashboard to the latest update and, this being the first post I write since the update just moments ago, I can say things are working spectacularly. There was an issue in the previous update with the flash uploader, this version has fixed that.

On the left hand side, drop down menus have replaced the block of options that once took over the main area in the middle of the screen. I love it. If I want to add a new like, just click the links tab and it’ll let me edit my current ones, add new ones or even look at the link categories. Same applies for most other options that are housed on the right.

I guess this isn’t very important to you if you don’t use Wordpress, or blog at all for that matter, but I’d thought I’d send a shout out to the amazing testing team and coders who have delivered these great changes. I’m subscribed to WP as a “tester” and get dozens of emails a day about broken codes, and flaws– and to see the end product is an interesting feeling. Either way, thanks to the Mr. who did the actual labor work of backing up the files and then updating WP. Woohoo!! <3

Ladies and Gentlemen:

A while ago I read an article about Wordpress themes and where you’re downloading them from. I’ve always picked my themes from wordpress.net, but the last couple of themes I found on another site. It turns out the themes I got from there had some malicious coding embedded in it. I have deleted it, but still don’t feel comfortable. I’ve contacted the creator to either send me their original theme, but if she doesn’t message me back I will have to change the look again. I apologize for any inconveniences, but this is for both my protection and yours.

p.s. If you’re a wordpress newb and don’t know anything about coding, ONLY download theme from themes.wordpress.net
