Home Decor the Upper Playground way

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I’ve officially mentioned it a billion times now– Upper Playground is the bomb! =) Their latest addition to an already exceptional product line are pillows that sport some fancy art from two of my favorite artists; David Choe and Sam Flores.

I find that Choe’s pillow is a little too artsy for my home (although, in my head I have a dozen photo-ops), but Flores’ Fatima will go perfect with what I seem to have going on in my home. Each of the pillows measure 20″x20″ and cost $40 a pop. I really don’t think that’s a horrible price for some art in your home decor. To purchase either pillow follow the links below.

p.s. Upper Playground should pay me for the free advertising, I’m just saying. =)

I know that hats are technically not apparel, but I can’t get enough of his characters. In addition to the hat above, which costs $45– I’m interested in a bag they have at the shop. (more…)

Upper Playground now in the East Village

On Monday, on my way to meet up with the Mr. for some yummy Japanese food (food critique coming soon), I walked by Giant Robot NY, which is seriously down the block from me– and realized that something was different. GRNY used to take up two shops– the actual store and the gallery. I noticed that now the gallery was both shop and gallery and next door I’d spotted something familiar– Upper Playground. (more…)
