Unboxing: Gloomy Bear Revoltech from I Heart Cool Stuff on Vimeo.

During our San Francisco visit, our friends took us to Japantown, and guess what I picked up there?! The Gloomy Bear Revoltech figure. It was due for a late August/early September release, and I knew I had to have him as soon as I saw the box.

As I mentioned in the video, I purchased mine in Japantown, and I thought MPH was going to have them available, but it seems I was mistaken. I did however look up the figure and there are two places you can find it at. You can get it from YesAsia.com, although I’ve never ordered from them– and it’ll cost you $39.99. I did however, find it cheaper on Amazon.com for $32.70.  Gloomy Bear 073 Revoltech PVC Action Figure

I’ll be adding pictures later, I left them on my home laptop. Woops! Until then, leave some love on Vimeo. The video will be added to our YouTube channel next week.

Jeez, this video took forever to put together! I had loads of fun with this ‘Unboxing.’ Mostly, it was the subject, Marshall is simply too cute– but a lot of the excitement was really in hearing Marshall speak!

Marshall Mashumaro, was created by 64Colors (Eric and Laura, who are two amazing, talented and friendly artists). He was officially release May 21st and the date couldn’t come sooner. Hit the jump to read about the giveaway and more details about where to purchase them.

Unboxing: The Gamma Mutants Land

As many of you may recall– two weeks ago, Tara McPherson invaded New York City’s KidRobot to celebrate the release of both her latest blindboxed vinyl toy collection; the Gamma Mutant Space Friends, and the release of her 2nd book of collections; Lost Constellations released by DarkHorse. Wow! I think that may have been the longest sentence I’ve written on this blog. =) April 23rd also marked the beginning of Tara’s both national and international tour, and what better place to start than her home turf?

I’ve made it explicitly clear on many occassions that I am in lust with Tara and in passionate love with her works no matter what medium. So, when the Gamma Mutants finally landed, it wasn’t a question of would I be picking some up? The real question was, how many would I be picking up? To my own surprise I purchased a whole case– a first since I’ve been in the designer toy scene. Watch the video above to learn my thoughts on the figure and hit the jump to see many more photos!!

Invasion of Ritz the ROBOT!

So I have this inexplicable love for robots. If you take a second to understand my logic, I’m sure you’ll agree with me. Ready? If, I give them [robots] all of my love right now, when humans still dominate the world; then when they take over, they’ll spare me. =) See, that makes lots of sense doesn’t it?

Anyway, I promised to provide you with some links, so here they go:

If you want to purchase Ritz there are two locations you can get him from:

  1. Alexander Shen’s shop: wanderingpandacomics.com
  2. From Toycyte.com

Also, if you have a flickr, make sure you add your photos to the Flickr Pool. The photo on the right is the picture I was referring to in the video. I think Ritz and Mr. Mustachio were meant to be, don’t you think?

Unboxing Sket-One’s GID Buckeye Rot

The first time I encountered Sket’s Buckeye Rot was actually during NYCC. The figure was released at MPH’s booth, where they had Sket on hand on Saturday for a signing. At the time, I was all over the place, as I typically am whenever big events like these take place in the city. There are so many artists who come into town, that I tend to lose my mind due to the excitement.

One of my friends mentioned Sket’s Buckeye Rot and how impressed he was with the packaging. At first I was confused because I let the release slip my mind, but I immediately headed straight to MPHs booth to see this packaging. My friend was dead on.

I’ve taken an interest in UNBOXING, therefore, hit the jump to check out a video of me unboxing Sket’s Buckeye, along with a photo gallery and some more information about the figure. Give me feedback, constructive please– that’ll help me make the episodes better. =)
