UbiSoft Releases Rabbids to the Masses

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I was lucky enough to be hooked up with a set of these during the summer by the lovely and wonderful Colette. I love me some rabbids, for life! Anyway, it seems many people were interested in owning a set for themselves and I’m glad to announce that UBIsoft heard your cries and have made a set available for sale on their site.

They have officially placed the little guys on the right for sale. Unlike my set above, the set they are offering on their commerce site will include: Mellow Rabbid, Assassin’s Creed Rabbid, Splinter Cell Rabbid, Raving Rabbid and a DIY Rabbid. This means, you don’t get the Prince of Persia Rabbid that I’m lucky enough to have. But, I like the idea of a mellow and ravenous rabbid, in addition to the capabilities of creating whatever you want with that DIY edition.

If you want one of these sets for yourself, head on over to the UBIart website and buy them for $48. Seems like a lot, but they’re just so hard not to love.

Raving Rabbids for Sale!!!

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

A while back I’d written about UbiSoft and the awesome free swag they gave away. Thanks to a very special lady (danke once more woman!) I was able to get my hands on the set (pictured above by me). I love the Raving Rabbids and to have an entire set of them that represents some of UbiSoft’s popular titles makes me super giddy inside.

This morning, another awesome lady (the pimp) sent me a link to an article from Kotaku. It seems UbiSoft has sort of extended their kindness by offering to sell the rabbids on their site. They’re not there yet, but soon, they will be. Along with the individual boxes witch are also in theme with the games they represent (Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and of course the Raving Rabbids)– they have added an additional character. I want me a plunger holding Rabbid now please. Woohoo!! I will try to update when they become available, but for now let’s bask in the opportunity to be able to buy them.

P.S. I am officially a Dean in a NYC middle school/high school— therefore, please apologize my lack of posting. I’m getting the hang of my busy schedule. Hopefully I shall resurface strong. -saki

Devilrobots: The Tofu Oyako Devil Mix

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I find myself saying: “something is my favorite,” and I swear, I’m not lying. Devilrobots- makers of some of my very favorite characters will be dropping a new line of Tofu Kubricks this November. What’s so special about this series? It doesn’t just focus on their Tofu Oyako character, but brings their other popular characters to the same medium. Who does this include? Evirob, Maffy, Kaizoku Chan, HellCats & Kiiro. I’m looking forward to owning both Evirob and Kiiro. Keep a look out for them, I will update when word of their exact date of release is known. Noferin and the Cuteness Factor

Friday, June 13th, 2008

SuperPunch posted images last night of Noferin’s totally kawaii upcoming figures, and saw it as my opportunity to finally post about them. They’ve been patiently waiting in my “Things to Post” file. Now, this might end up being a rather long post… since I plan on including tidbits of both the artists and the figures… so, you’ve been warned.

Who is Noferin? When visiting their site I was able to gather that they (1 boy, 1 girl) are a collaborative partnership. The girl, Candy, expresses her talent on a blank canvas. And the boy, Nicho, focuses on the world that is Noferin, plus the wood sculpting. They had their first show in March of 2007, and this is the first time I hear of them releasing their own figures; all of which are made out of wood and are limited to 200 pieces. That means, I’ll have one of each please. Most of their work is infused with lots of nature themes, which I think is clear through their preferred choice of wood. It seems Nicho is studying (or studied) in a science related field.

So, who are their upcoming characters? You’re going to have to hit the jump to find out. (more…)

Some David Horvath Stuff…

Monday, June 9th, 2008

It occured to me that I wanted to post about Kaiju Babo, and then I suddenly wanted to post about the new shirts at Giant Robot– so I decided to put some things David Horvath in one post. I am a HUGE fan of David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. I can’t help but love their overly simplistic, but super cute little monsters. With them, I experience being able to draw their popular characters without feeling like I missed the magic.

So, to the first matter at hand. I’ve wanted to own most of DH’s Kaiju Uglies… and the fact that I don’t understand the foreign language is holding me back. A friend of mine explained the process, but I keep thinking I’m going to frak up. Apparently, you have to email them what you’re interested in along with address and they request a paypal payment? Umm [source] is that correct? Well, if they’re not sold out– I WANT KAIJU BABO!!!

At first I was thrown off by the revelation of a cookie tail. The cookie part was okay, I mean, who doesn’t LOVE cookies?!! I’ll send cookie monster on you. It was explained that Babo lives in an alternate universe where a tail is necessary. So cool! Anyway, he’s set to come out later this month, so keep your eyes peeled.

Not only did DH release news of his newest Kaiju addition, but apparently, new t-shirts have been shipped too! Woo hoo! My favorite two are above, but I am especially loving the “I Quit!” shirt. How awesome is that? The shirts are about $22 a pop and you can check Giant Robot to get it.

Raving Rabbids!

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

[Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia & Rayman Raving Rabbids]

I are green with ENVY right now. Yeah, I wrote “are” and felt like a pirate when I wrote it too! Anyway, I’ve known about Ubisoft releasing the Rabbids in vinyl form. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about them in time to buy them when they were available on their site, but my Mr. managed to get one on ebay, which I always want to steal! Anyway, GayGamer posted his latest Raving Rabbids swag and I could feel my heart being crushed into pieces because it’s yet another set I won’t get to own. They’re awesome, and of what I know, not for sale.

I want, I want, I want!!!

NYCC: Steve Talkowski and Steve Lew

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Both these guys are awesome and I thought I’d post about their works in progress. What’s the status on their creations? To be quite honest, I’m not sure. Steve Talkowski was unleashing his Sketchbot into the wild through stickers, postcards and buttons (which I got!) on Friday, Day 1 of NYCC.

I’m uber excited for whatever is to come with his creation. I have an unexplainable love for robots, and the giant pencil he’s holding just adds to the adoration. I want him in vinyl form, or something of that nature… I can imagine him sitting in class with me. In the meantime, I’ll make do with the sketch Steve hooked me up with, in gold nonetheless. If you want to keep up with the progress, please visit his blog: Steve’s Sketchbot Adventures

Steve Lew*, aka Kid Lew, was the other Steve putting something out there. I got a chance to catch up with him that first day and he mentioned how hard he’d been working the night before to have Lumpy Bumpkin ready for NYCC. He created the prototype himself, I swear, if only I could do such things. I think the little fella is cute, and my favorite parts happen to be the stitching across it’s face. MPH was kind enough to display among their other pieces. No word on whether he’s going to be mass produced though. I’ll let you know if I hear something.

*(Steve’s listed in no particular order ^_^)
