I Heart Cool Stuff

I believe these are like the XO laptops that cost about $100 to donate to third-world countries? But with tokidoki adorning their face plate, I don’t quite think that’ll be the case. Unfortunately there’s not much information on this collaboration and it seems the website that hosts this information is in Japanese– but I thought I’d put it out there that I’m expecting Simone Legno to collaborate with GelaSkins to bring me a skin for my HP. Ah, Simone, how I love to watch you. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing/hanging with Simone once or twice this year and I can honestly tell you he’s a great guy. I love being around him- granted, it may have everything to do because I am one of his many fangirls, but who’s keeping track right?

Karmaloop, who I happen to favor in terms of tokidoki products, just had an interview with Mr. Tokidoki himself. The best part? Getting a glimpse of his sketchbook as he randomly turns the pages. I shall steal this book, my ninja outfit is on it’s way here. Mwahahaha!

As SDCC approached, my excitement for tokidoki vinyls grew out of proportion. The final blow was when tokidoki and strangeco announced the Onitsuka tigers, which I still hope to attain the white one though I’m not in SDCC. Now, VinylPulse has reported on yet another figure that I MUST get. His name? Cocommando, protector of the jungle.

I wanted to note my delight on Simone bringing more male figures to life in 3D version. This fella looks to be about 6″, which is a perfect size. I don’t know if he’ll come with his very own tank (since he’s not pictured in it), I hope he does, but if he doesn’t– it’s alright in my book. No word on quantity or price. I wants!! (more…)

I think I will officially declare my complete and utter devotion to ToysREvil! Yeah, Andy brings me that many great news… I am your loyal servant!! [okay, maybe not so much your servant, but close] What news does he bring now? The unleashing of Tokidoki x Onitsuka x StrangeCo release. It’s Tiger tokidoki’s onitsuka mascot! The official unveiling takes place today during TTF, which is why we get to see them. Andy reports:

How could I have missed these news? Two days ago I got a flickr message from tokidokizenz.com, it seems they loved my tokidoki qee “hi” photo and posted it among a top 10? Either way, I immediately visited their flickr page and came across the image above. I love devilrobots’ tofu heads and this is just another thing I want stat! So, who has more information? Ladies and Gentlemen, if you live in NYC, I’ve officially spotted the Onitsuka sneakers by Simone Legno (tokidoki) at DavidZ. Actually, I think this may apply for all US residents. I’ve just spotted them on their site too, so you may be able to get them delivered to your homes. The above model will cost you $120, which are the ones I want. All other models seem to cost $130. I’ve never ordered from DavidZ, so I don’t know how well they are with deliveries or whether they deliver to all states. If you try, please let me know so I can update. Danke! And finally, news of this duo is unleashed to the blog-o-sphere. What’s this mean? Loads of people just blew their top off  as tokyoplastic’s upcoming geisha (SDCC exclusive) will be adorned with Simone Legno’s tokidoki art!! Oh snaps. I love both artists. The geisha is one of my favorite platforms and well, tokidoki has always been kawaii goodness. This exclusive makes up a lot of my dissapointment from his dunny (that I’ll still most likely get).

There’s no official word on how many are being released, though the latest releases have ranged between 60(black geisha)-200(yellow geisha). It’ll also stand 4″ tall and will cost between $40-$50 bucks. Nice!!!

It’s officially been announced! Tokidoki (aka Simone Legno) is releasing an 8″ Dunny for KidRobot during SDCC. YAY!! Apparently the man will be at KidRobot’s booth (#4529) on Sunday from 11-2pm to sign these pizza inspired dunnies for the WORLD! So what do you think of it?

I’ve got to be honest here, I have an obsession for tokidoki stuff, but this is by far an example of the least effort put into one of his works. Do we remember his 3″ Dunny? The entire body was covered! No blank spot he took advantage of the cavas that was in front of him. This one is cute, I love the head the most and the I Heart Pizza part, but in general, there’s so MUCH WHITE! These will retail at $50 a pop.

Though the exact date has yet to surface, news of their release is official. Soon, I believe before the summer (July), Mozzarella and Sandy will be joining the forces of my plush army and hopefully help take over the world with their cuteness. I mean, their mean streak. ^__^ Anyway, each tokidoki plush is set to cost $19.99. Can you feel the excitement brewing?

And so, the sneakers I’ve waited a year and a half for are finally here. Tokidoki-blog is responsible for making me aware of their official release, and I am too estatic. tokidoki.it is currently taking pre-orders, though I’m confused if they’re only female sizes. I guess I can assume these are currently only for women, right? Either way, get your pre-orders in, as the sneakers will begin to ship May 22nd. These will set you back $110, there are currently 4 designs available.
