Scene: Shin Tanaka Night
Last week, I shared I'd be attending New York-Tokyo and Frank's Chop Shop party in honor of Shin Tanaka. The art of paper toys (not origami-- although I also appreciate that form of art too) have been...

Last week Friday, was the 2nd annual New Moon show at MyPlasticHeart. I've been waiting for this show for a while, especially when I began to overhear the...
Two weeks ago; Sket-One, Mad, Pon and Mr. Shane Jessup held their opening for the Paying Dues show at the Eloquent Delinquents Gallery in downtown New York. I wasn’t able to make the show, as that weekend commenced the work drunkeness. I don’t usually drink, but with the news of my layoff, people thought it appropriate to get me drunk many times.
The show featured works by the four gentlemen and it included customs, canvases and many mixed media items. The Mr. put a video together, which you should check out if you haven’t already.
I’ve been aware of their upcoming release for a while, but I was waiting for more images of what to expect. Mr. Shane Jessup had released some sneek peaks, but it still wasn’t enough. I do have to admit though, that I’m super excited for PON! for making it into the production design. He’s cool and very chill. Anyway… Sket has updated his myspace blog with his design (which by the way happens to be a chase). I think I need this chase simply because I’m a New Yorker.
I thought I’d post both these fellas together since they happen to be friends. Above is one of Sket’s (hopefully) upcoming Elementals. The clowd is my favorite one. I’d spotted these on display when Sket had his Oil Flock release at My Plastic Heart, but until now had not heard or seen them. When asked about the production, talks were still in the works about whether they’d get the okay or not. I hope they get produced this year, I really want them.
Mad’s Sharpies are apparently definitely going to be released this year. I overheard that these sharpies have been ready for a while, but their original release date was too close to his Bent World Vandals. I liked that series, though I only own two or three, I didn’t want to submit my wallet to blind boxes again. These sharpies, however, look so much better. The quality, the stubbiness, and they all really scream MAD! Not sure how much they’re going to be or when they’ll be released.
