I feel really cheap and dirty right now. I have to come up with a new “tag line” when posting about customs– “Custom Delights” clearly belongs to Tomopop. =X Soon, I promise! Now back to our programming. =) Jeremiah Ketner, or how I’ve been referring to him: Small and Round, has just posted some custom works of his on his commerce website. I’ve become a huge fan of work and style and I only wish I was a more selfish human being so I could guiltlessly purchase one of his custom madl’s.
Currently, the “Pink Guy” is the only madl still available, along with a Munny he also customized. I love the pink guy, but I really wanted to purchase his “Blue Guy” and that’s been sold off. *shakes fist with anger* Oh well, maybe next time. What’s important to focus on is the fact that this artist is REALLY talented and creates amazing pieces– and I have recently discovered a very affordable price tag of $150 for a 5″ MadL and $300 for the Munny. Check out his shop for other shopping opportunities. Maybe buy me the guy above and I’ll heart you forever and ever?!

It seems Gallery 1988 (seriously, when is it not them? They need to move to NY, they’re always having a show of some sort) is having a show titled: Monster Art Rally. You can tell from the name that monsters will be involved and they’ll come in vinyl and plushy form, woohoo! Pictured above is kaNO!’s entry for the event. A custom 10″ MadL in the very grim form of CHUCKY. Eek. Chucky used to scare the shit out of me when I was younger and like kaNO! mentions on his blog he chose to stay away from the typical Dracula and Frankenstein choices as those would obviously make an appearance.
I definitely concur with the decision and to be quite honest I expect kaNO to always stride away from the obvious choices. Whenever I’m in kaNOs prescence, the old school conversations always come up and Chucky is definitely one scary mofo from my generation and those older than myself. If you’re in SF, check it out. It opens Friday, October 10th.

I’ll say it once and it’ll be enough: I will recognize an Andrew Bell anywhere. I’m trying my best to keep my head on my shoulders when it comes to all the news/exclusives from SDCC. Above, spotted on Vinyl Pulse, is a Mad*l- part of Mad’s Phase 3- created by Andrew Bell.
I’d look at the fella’s face and immidiately recognized Andrew Bell’s signature look. Apparently, Andrew has created the guy above for Frozen Empire. He should be dropping some time in December, how fitting. I hope he’ll cost approximately as much as Mad’s previous releases ($40-$50). I also want to know how many of him will be released, since clearly I want to get my hands on one. And, does his head glow-in-the-dark? Now, that would be even more awesome!

Mad just dropped a bomb on his flickr, and a great one at that! Not only is he releasing his blue GID 10″ MadL (I know I’ve said this a lot, but MadL’s really are at the very top of my favorites list), but he’s also teamed up with ToyQube to release an exclusive design.

Last night was Mad’s Phase 3 realease. What’s that mean? I am referring to the second coming of his Mad*l’s. I have to say that since I got into the scene I was longing for this day. I wasn’t around during the first wave of Mad*L’s and now that he’s producing them himself, I am overjoyed with the upcoming releases. In order to kick off the Mad*L wave, Mad has a custom 10″ Mad*Ls show at MPH last night. Check out more photos after the jump.

Mad just posted a sneak peak on his flickr of what seems to be some MadL pillows. So far I like the middle design and the blue on the right hand side. I’m not sure I like the one on the left, it kind of looks like a luchador and I’m simply not a fan. There’s no additional information on release, price, or who’s going to be distributing them. I’ll let ya know of any updates.

I was browsing through blogs again, and I ran into these customs. I have no idea who designed them, but I am immensely impressed with the detailed work that the person did on both figures. The larger is Mad’s Mad*L figure and the smaller one is JLed’s Cutter. The reason why they caught my attention is because I love Mad and his figure and I had never seen something this intricate on the piece itself. And JLed’s has undergone a massive transformation! Hit the jump to see an additional image of the custom Cutter.
