This weekend, Julie West will be invading Florida for her solo show at PinkGhost. I am so damn jealous of the Floridians this week, because I was honestly trying my best to fly out to this show and support both Julie and PinkGhost. Sadly, if any of you follow me on twitter, money is tight, and I wasn’t able to schedule the trip. =( Pictures will simply have to suffice for now.
Julie will be showcasing new canvas works along with some prints and customs. I already spotted a 20″ dunny that I wish I could afford. If you were luckier than I, and are in the area, you should really make it a point to stop by PinkGhost and support not only Julie and her works, but PinkGhost. I heart them. <3

We’re nearing September, and that means that we’re just a couple of days away from Pinkghost’s release of their first Chubby Books Artist Series. I remember spotting a sneak peak of their project on twitter, and was jumping for joy when I recognized the artists they were working with. Now, with their big reveal, my only question is, how many can I afford?!!
I have an obsession with books, journals, calendars, sketchbooks, and the list just keeps going. On top of my obsession, I’m a huge fan of both Julie West and 64Colors, and have only recently come to love Helena Garcia (only because I wasn’t familiar with her works before). I’ve compiled all the pictures that are currently on PinkGhost’s site, for your convenience. Hit the jump to see the gallery of photos and some of my favorites!

Twitter is becoming the hub of information for me. I’ll explain– Earlier in the day, Jeremiah Ketner posted about the upcoming show at Rotofugi on his twitter feed. I immediately visited his flickr, because that’s where the link sent me to, and spotted the flyer above.
Jeremiah Ketner, along with Julie West, are going to participate in a collaborative show in Rotofugi’s Gallery in Chicago. How jealous!! I know Jeremiah Ketner is from Chicago, but when am I going to get a chance to meet the man? Thankfully, I’ve already met Julie on numerous occassions or I would’ve had a fit.
Although I haven’t seen any sneak peeks, I know this show is going to be amazing. I am a huge fan of both their works and I’m hoping that I will be able to score at least 1 piece from the show. I’ll update the post when more updates surface.

We’ve spotted Julie West all over the place; shirts, bags, illustrations, paintings, customs, and now it seems we can add drinking glasses to the list of things that Julie has done. Shared on Friday through her flickr, Julie has designed some juice loving cups for Art Star Gallery and Boutique. If you want to pick one up it’ll cost you $18, but you can save $4 if you order a set. Check out Art Star Gallery to purchase.

Back in January, Jansport held an event for their “Artist Series.” I didn’t pay attention on the KidRobot boards and clearly missed the invite to attend the event. Lucky for me, a very cool cat totally hooked me up with one of Julie West x Jansport bags from the previous Artist Series (girl with balloons).
Well, Julie has just posted the image above on her flickr and already I’m gushing over the messenger bag. I am in love with my current bag and I have to tell you that’s its a lot sturdier then I thought it would be. It’s a huge bag that holds way more items then I wish it did, since it can get heavy. My delight with my current bag is sending me straight to the check out page with the new release. I want!!

I miss visiting the wonderful people of MPH. Unfortunately, because I’ve chosen not to work during the summer… I’ve shown loads of self-control so all my money could be spent during SDCC. I are a shameful character. Luckily, MPH is going to be hosting the beloved Julie West for (what I believe is) her first solo show in NYC (??).
Julie West really is a talented artist and an amazing personality. I am forever grateful to her for hooking me up with a custom kaniza during ToyQube’s 3rd year celebration and release party. Well, I have the pleasure of hanging with her again on August 8th when she displays her new paintings, prints, and super sweet customs all based on her sugary theme.
If you’re planning a trip to NYC this summer, I suggest you try to come up that weekend. Julie’s going to make the trip herself from the UK, so it’d be a great time to meet and hang out with her. More details or sneak peeks when they come, woohoo!
BTW, maybe I’ll see Tim there?

A while back, I’d gotten word of Julie West’s participation in the Jansport Artist Series backpacks. I was really looking forward to their release because I love her and her style. She’s a rather cool gal who took my blank kaniza home and did it up for me [thanks again Tim for delivering it safe to the Mr for me]. Anyway, it seems the rolling luggage bags are finally available for purchase. If you’ve got $179.00 to spare, click the link to purchase one of her designs. Woo hoo! I want the blue bookbag when it becomes available.
