Kuro Glass Pendants by Camilla d’Errico

It feels a little strange that I haven’t posted about Camilla d’Errico in a while. I’ve spotted her all over the blogosphere lately do to her print releases and various other projects in fashion and comics. And yet, my mind wandered somewhere else. No worries though, because I don’t think I’ve spotted the pendants above anywhere. So, time to share.

I took the liberty of taking the best image that showcased the adorable character Kuro in his glass pendant form, and spruced it up just a bit. When I visited Camilla’s shop (again, she’s recently released several fashion items and since her wallet release at the end of 2008, I’ve dug her style), I didn’t expect to see this little guy. At first I thought he might’ve been a polymer pendant, but it turned out to be made of glass.

No information on how large each is, but if it’s anything like my cupcake pendant that’s also made of glass, it’ll be a little less than an inch in height. These pendants are limited to 250 pieces, and similar to resin creations– every pendant will be unique. The pendant is shipped in a black box and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Although it is a pendant, one that comes accompanied with an 18″ silver chain, it also comes with a cell phone strap attachment so you have the option of using it as a cell phone strap.

For those of you who, like myself, are allergic to anything that isn’t a precious metal– I can personally vouch for the glass pendant option. As I mentioned, my cupcake charm (favorite one of all my pendants) is made of glass and not once have I broken out into hives, so rest assured that you should be able to show off Kuro carefree of any negative reactions. If you want one of these pendants, head on over to Camilla’s shop, each costs $30 plus shipping.

It’s official, my titles keep getting longer and longer– so from now on– I’ll refer to this series as: “MtVD Gift Guide.” In this series of gift recommendations, we focus on the moustache aficionado. I myself am a fan of moustaches, I can’t help but like that fuzz on a man’s face– it’s not the same on women though, unless its gender breaking photography. Anyway, keep reading to check out some of my hairy finds.

Nerdy Jewelry Alert: 8-Bit Mario Pendant

I’m still on the search for more pendants to purchase. I love wearing chains or necklaces with geeky pendants or something that’s unique and not seen everyday. I think 8-Bit Mario would be a perfect pendant to add to my collection, wouldn’t you agree? I could show off my geek status, while still being subtly fashionable. ^__^ The best part, it’s silver! The problem with a lot of the video game themed and other geeky jewelry I find on the internet is that they are made from other metals that I’m allergic to. If you feel like me, and are digging this pendant, you can head over to sketchystories’ ETSY account. It’ll cost you $44.

Gift Guide: Twitter Necklaces

Hey! I should really have titled the entry “Holiday Gift Guide,” but I think that at this point, it’s too late for holiday recommendations, unless you’re celebrating 3 Kings Day (Los Reyes Magos), in which case, yes this is a holidaygift guide. Don’t I work in a timely fashion? haha.

Anyway, I spotted these necklaces a while back, and I like to believe something so savvy works for both men and women– but I’m guessing will argue differently, so let’s keep this limited to women. If you’re a networking guru, or know someone who is, then you can bet they’ll be on Twitter. So, why not gift them the gift of a twitter id or hashtag necklace?

I will gladly accept the following: @sakiwaki, #douche!, #IHCS, #<3’spunchingstomachs! <– too long? Fine! I suppose things could get out of hand, but I’m guessing this is part of the fun. Best part is, that for delicate people like myself who are allergic to fake jewelry, these are made from silver, gold and can even include diamonds. I’ll take some “ice” on mine too, please. Dot the i’s with some diamonds.

The starting price is $49.95 on SurvivaloftheHippest’s Etsy account. Happy shopping.

NOTCOT posted some awesome pictures from Rocket World’s SDCC booth. I participated in the VPEast SDCC panel, and the picture that was provided of their booth did not do it justice– no offense John. =) The cases had some items I hadn’t seen, and that I want to know if they’re available.

If you read the VPEast coverage, you already know I loved those skull plushies– but I didn’t know there were IWG mascot plushies available too. NOTCOT also posted some other goodies, check them out after the jump.

A Charming “Hello”

I don’t think I’ve blogged about any jewelry items in a very long time. I’ve been “rocking” the cupcake charm from ihotto since I got it 2 years ago, because it’s the charm I believe expresses my personality the most. Colorful, cute, delicious and yummy! Those are some good adjectives to describe myself as, aren’t they? Well– it seems, I may have just found the charm that I’ll be equally as excited to wear, the “hello” charm from above.

Here’s the only downfall I see– since it’s handmade the charms are kind of pricey. Blegh! My cupcake charm cost me $35, while the “hello” charm costs $120. AAAH! I don’t know– I’ll save my pennies and buy it for myself towards the end of the summer. Maybe. =( The charm is made out of sterling silver, so it’s a bonus since I’m allergic to fake jewelry. If you have more cash than I do, head on over to Joanna’s Etsy shop and order one for yourself. Also, if  you have any cute charm recommendations, send them my way– I like wearing cute stuff.

Can I Borrow Your Phillips Head Earrings?

First thing that should be noted, have you visited ShanaLogic before? I almost feel like an infomercial asking that question, but seriously, have you? I like to believe that it’s a great thing I don’t have much cash because there are so many things on the net I would spend it on, and ShanaLogic would be somewhere along the top of the list of shops I would spend ALL my money at. They have awesome stuff; jewelry, plushies, random accessories. At the moment, I’ve got my eyes on the Phillips Head earrings pictured above. I mean, seriously, they’re just after my heart with the things they come up with.

I WANT, I WANT, I WANT. Aren’t you supposed to say it three times for a wish to be granted? Damn it, I guess that only works for Beetlejuice and Dorthy. You can get these over at ShanaLogic for $35. And, for those of you who may be allegic, they’re sterling silver! Woot-woot!!

Hazardous Tools…

Watch out, there’s some hazardous tools around my neck. Or, I hope there will be is the better statement. Last week I ran into Nicola Vruwink’s site and fell in love with her toolboxed collection. The saw was my favorite charm, that and the scissors. To be quite honest, I love them all. Unfortunately they range between $92-$98 each, so I can barely afford to get one right now, NYCC is right around the corner. [Nicola's Toolboxed Jewelry]

I found this awesome Zelda Tri-Force charm, and then it got sold out. So I’ll show it to you after the jump so you don’t instantly fall in love. This Lon-Lon charm however, is very cute. It wouldn’t be such a bad thing to have some around your neck when you’re in need of energy, no? If you want to purchase the cute milk bottle, you can buy if from [tiffanybell] for a mere $3.50. Now read on to see the other kick ass, but sadly already sold charm.

On Tuesday, meaning yesterday, well now the day before yesterday… my “@ My Heart” necklaces came in. I ordered these nifty (totally tech and geeky) necklaces on Etsy.com. I must give plenty of kudos to Reyney (the creator) for her creativity. Anyway, if you want to purchase this necklace for yourself feel free to create an account with etsy and order one from REYNEY
