It’s been over a week since NYCC invaded New York and I’m finally getting down to business and posting some of the things that caught my eye. First up, at Toy Tokyo’s booth, they had Doktor A’s Mechtorians on display. I hadn’t gotten a chance to see them in person, but now that I have have, I am reassured in my decision to pick them up. The character above, Sir Shilling Copperpenny, is my favorite. I think it’s his oversized belly. =)

Doctor Horrible in Doktor A Style

I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE, when two things I am really passionate about, meet in perfect harmony. In this case, Doktor A, who has been dishing out batches of commissioned drawings has taken on the world of Doctor Horrible. We know from previous posts that I absolutely loved the summer internet blockbuster known as Doctor Horrible’s Sing-A-Long, created by Joss Whedon (BtVS, Angel, Firefly). Well, if I had money to spare I would ask Doktor A to hook me up with the same drawing. Whoever commissioned it, so rocks!

Update: Doktor A’s figures will actually be released window boxed, so you know exactly who you’re getting. Thanks for the info John.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I have a new found love for MINDstyle. When did it start? I can pin-point the exact moment, it’s when they made Kathie Olivas’ art available to me for prices that my wallet could afford to lose. Then, MINDstyle went on to bring news during SDCC of Brandt’s blind boxes and just refreshed my feelings for them all over again. Now, MINDstyle is seriously spoiling me (because somehow the world revolves around me, right?) with news of Doktor A’s Mechtorians.

I bring news of 5 different artists and their upcoming t-shirts. First I’ll focus on Bubi Au Yeung’s shirts, and then you can hit the jump to find out (and see) the shirts that Doktor A, Tara McPherson, Jon Burgerman and Dalek are releasing.

I love Bubi! If you don’t know who she is, the above photo should give you an inclination. She’s the talented artist that brought us Treeson (and all it’s colorways/sizes). She recently shared the newest additions to her Zazzle shop where she sells her own apparel.

Be Different is the newest addition to her site. She has it available in several cuts for both men and women, and also has some key chains, hats and a mug!! I think I might be picking up the mug for myself, because I have a mug collection that needs some growing. I also happen to love her previous design:

I am actually quite in love with the expression on her character’s face. hee-hee. I say, I want to ask Bubi to turn me into a Treeson. The very first image is a picture of Bubi (treeson-ized). I like that she’s able to do a simple design with such limited colors. Great job Bubi! To check out her shop, click this link. Now, keeping reading to see stuff from some of our other favorite artists.
