It feels a little strange that I haven’t posted about Camilla d’Errico in a while. I’ve spotted her all over the blogosphere lately do to her print releases and various other projects in fashion and comics. And yet, my mind wandered somewhere else. No worries though, because I don’t think I’ve spotted the pendants above anywhere. So, time to share.
I took the liberty of taking the best image that showcased the adorable character Kuro in his glass pendant form, and spruced it up just a bit. When I visited Camilla’s shop (again, she’s recently released several fashion items and since her wallet release at the end of 2008, I’ve dug her style), I didn’t expect to see this little guy. At first I thought he might’ve been a polymer pendant, but it turned out to be made of glass.
No information on how large each is, but if it’s anything like my cupcake pendant that’s also made of glass, it’ll be a little less than an inch in height. These pendants are limited to 250 pieces, and similar to resin creations– every pendant will be unique. The pendant is shipped in a black box and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Although it is a pendant, one that comes accompanied with an 18″ silver chain, it also comes with a cell phone strap attachment so you have the option of using it as a cell phone strap.
For those of you who, like myself, are allergic to anything that isn’t a precious metal– I can personally vouch for the glass pendant option. As I mentioned, my cupcake charm (favorite one of all my pendants) is made of glass and not once have I broken out into hives, so rest assured that you should be able to show off Kuro carefree of any negative reactions. If you want one of these pendants, head on over to Camilla’s shop, each costs $30 plus shipping.

Yesterday I got news that Camilla d’Errico’s character, KURO, is being released in plush form. =D Although I am a huge fan of her art style and and am constantly charmed by her female characters, I’ve never actually had the pleasure of reading BURN, the comic she illustrates. Thanks to this uber cute, yet, apparently really evil character, I may just have to pick up the comic book.

It seems that thanks to DKE, you can purchase both the character and comic in a set which will retail for $15USD, or if you’d rather pick up the plush alone, he’ll cost $10.99USD. I think $15 is a super cheap price, so I’ll most likely be picking up the set. He stands 6″ in height, and according to his description, he’s got a “too cute to believe” booty. I want now!!
p.s. Camilla just updated the look of her site, and I <3 it!!

During this year’s Comic Con, I finally got the opportunity to meet Canadian native, Camilla d’Errico. I’ve posted numerous times about my love and respect for this incredible artists and I refused to miss her at the con. I’d first ran into her on Friday, but I caught her in the middle of her personal shopping and well, I let the woman do her thing. On Saturday, I caught her at her booth where she had numerous prints available for $20 a pop, not a bad price for a print that measured about 11″x14″ and various other items like; button packs, postcards and her comics. I myself didn’t miss the chance to get a set of buttons and postcards to add to my collection– and was honored to add her to my new sketchbook which she’s holding in the image above. If you love her art and have an opportunity to meet her, go! She really is a nice and beautiful person.

Woohoo!! Camilla d’Errico is finally returning to New York for NYCC, which means, I finally get to meet her in person!! Yay! I’ve only recently (about 6 months) been aware of Camilla’s works and since my awakening, I’ve been in love with her stuff– if it wasn’t obvious in previous posts. Camilla is going to be in town specifically for Comic Con, but to welcome her arrival, Ad Hoc Gallery will be holding a Limited Print Release and Signing party for her on Thursday evening beginning at 6pm. I will definitely be attending to ensure that I don’t miss her during the chaos that will be comic con.
The print Ad Hoc is producing is her Royal Egg Watcher peice. It’ll measure 14″x 18″, same as the original peice and will cost you $150. I own 2 of her prints, thanks to my buddies and would love to add this to my print collection, though I don’t I’ll achieve that. This is making me realize that I really need to decide what I want to purchase during NYCC so I can be prepared to part with my cash. If you’re interested in attending Camilla’s welcoming/signing, click here for directions.

It’s been a slight delay in getting the names of the winners out there, but finally, I has them! I was going to film the mimobot winner, but let’s face it, I never have time and my memory card doesn’t work on my point-and-shoot camera that I use to film– so let’s move with the program and get those winners their gifties, right?!! Check it out:

Winner: Pimpsc00by!!
I’m actually a little happy that I get to give the pimp a mimobot since she’s been trying to win one for herself over the past 46 days of mimobot giveaways on twitter. Yay!! Congratulations woman, I wish I could have it for myself, but I’m not mean like that. >___<

Winner: Oda!!
Woohoo! Oda is another participant I’m glad won a prize. He entered all the opportunities for the mimobot giveaway and walked away with nothing. =( But, I hope the rabbids above will bring some joy to your life. Yay! I’ll be emailing both winners for their snail mails, in the meantime, keep reading for the last planned giveaway of 2008.

I recieved an email from Camilla earlier during the week about a t-shirt contest she has entered. I’m not sure if any of you remember the shirt she released during the summer for JapanLA. I was in love with it, but was too broke to purchase it and when money came my way, the shirt wasn’t available in my size anymore. =’(
Well, if Camilla wins this contest, I can has her shirt!! I love her style, but I love it even more when it’s in black-and-white. Her design is titled: “Symbiotic Friends” and to help her win, you’ll need to sign up at laFraise and vote 10(or more!!) for her. So, head on over to laFraise to VOTE!!

They’re here, they’re here! Well, they’ll be here in 3 weeks, but Camilla D’Errico’s handbags are finally being released. I don’t quite remember where I’d gotten word of the release of her handbags, but it has been one of the releases I’ve been anticipating since the beginning of the summer. In the latest weeks I have become so obsessed with her works and now, I get a chance to add her art to my substantial bag/wallet collection. Woohoo!

The wallet above, titled: Tanpopo, is the wallet I really want. I love her paintings, but her black and white stuff really stands out in my eyes. All of her bags will come accompanied with a custom-made Bax Bear zipper pull, and it seems some of the styles will have a similar colorful zipper that Tokidoki bags have. If you or someone close to you is a fan of Camilla’s stuff, then consider one of these bags for a gift. The prices will be a lot more moderate than those compared to Tokidoki’s bags. Wallets/ coin purses will range between $12.99-$18.99 and the larger bags will range from $99.99- $149.99.
If you want to secure getting one of these bags by the holiday season, it seems Camilla is going to have a pre-release on her online shop December 13th. Head on over to her commerce site for more details and photos.

I’m in a real dilemma. It seems 3 shows are opening the same night, and I don’t know which 2 to attend. I’m pushing it by planning to attend 2 openings, but I know I’m definitely not missing Kathie Olivas’ Uninvited Guests show at MPH– but she’s also going to have some works in Opera Gallery’s Young Blood show.
Young Blood will open October 17th at NYC’s Opera Gallery and it will host 15 talented artists– both national and international artists. Some of my very favorites will include; Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters and Camilla d’Errico!! I’m trying to attend this during the VIP night, but I have no sources at the Opera Gallery and I highly doubt I’ll be able to score an entry. So– shall I go meet Camilla who’s finally coming in from Vancouver? Or should I go to the Obama show right after Kathie’s Uninvited Guests show? Help! If you’d like to see the preview, click here.
*Correction: I have yet to confirm whether Camilla will be at the event or not, I misinterpreted something on her blog and assumed she would be. Sorry about that. >__<*
