TokiDoki Hits Sephora

I’m not quite sure I’ve made it public, but for a little less than a year now, I’ve become a make-up nut. Last summer I bought dresses, I bought stockings, more shoes and more makeup then I could afford. I am an owner of a Sephora rewards card, which at the moment seems a little dangerous due to Tokidoki’s latest collaboration with the makeup super store. Keep reading to see more photos and close-ups of the collaboration. I’ve spent the better part of the day getting these screengrabs and close-ups so please, if you’re going to use the images, credit myself or IHCS. Thank you!

Last night, while visiting Shawnimals’ website to link the upcoming Ninjatown Charms, I clicked on the NotM link because I like to drool over the monthly releases and noticed that you can buy the NotM pins. Sadly, not all of us can afford to purchase a ninja, although knowing about all the hard work that the Shawnimals team put into their plushies– they’re each worth their price tag, but I realize times are tough all around and its just not easy to spend frivolously. Well, if you’re anything like myself, and would still love to show-off even the slightest love for these unique ninjas, purchasing $1 pins may just be the way to go.

You can head on over to NotM page and purchase these for a dollar each. Currently, January through March buttons are still available. Happy Shopping!

Kuro Glass Pendants by Camilla d’Errico

It feels a little strange that I haven’t posted about Camilla d’Errico in a while. I’ve spotted her all over the blogosphere lately do to her print releases and various other projects in fashion and comics. And yet, my mind wandered somewhere else. No worries though, because I don’t think I’ve spotted the pendants above anywhere. So, time to share.

I took the liberty of taking the best image that showcased the adorable character Kuro in his glass pendant form, and spruced it up just a bit. When I visited Camilla’s shop (again, she’s recently released several fashion items and since her wallet release at the end of 2008, I’ve dug her style), I didn’t expect to see this little guy. At first I thought he might’ve been a polymer pendant, but it turned out to be made of glass.

No information on how large each is, but if it’s anything like my cupcake pendant that’s also made of glass, it’ll be a little less than an inch in height. These pendants are limited to 250 pieces, and similar to resin creations– every pendant will be unique. The pendant is shipped in a black box and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Although it is a pendant, one that comes accompanied with an 18″ silver chain, it also comes with a cell phone strap attachment so you have the option of using it as a cell phone strap.

For those of you who, like myself, are allergic to anything that isn’t a precious metal– I can personally vouch for the glass pendant option. As I mentioned, my cupcake charm (favorite one of all my pendants) is made of glass and not once have I broken out into hives, so rest assured that you should be able to show off Kuro carefree of any negative reactions. If you want one of these pendants, head on over to Camilla’s shop, each costs $30 plus shipping.

It’s official, my titles keep getting longer and longer– so from now on– I’ll refer to this series as: “MtVD Gift Guide.” In this series of gift recommendations, we focus on the moustache aficionado. I myself am a fan of moustaches, I can’t help but like that fuzz on a man’s face– it’s not the same on women though, unless its gender breaking photography. Anyway, keep reading to check out some of my hairy finds.

I’ve been so slow on the upkeep and these were meant to be Valentine’s Day gift guides, but guess what– as the Mr. constantly points out– you love your mate more than just on Valentine’s Day so why wouldn’t you want to gift them things even if it wasn’t the commercial day of love. So, I’ve sat through countless Etsy pages searching for affordable presents… here are top gift suggestions for gamers. You know what I love about Flickr? I attend shows in NYC, take pictures to share on my stream and blog; and with the right tags, the artists find the pictures and suddenly you’re introduced to their world. You follow a link to their webpage where you discover all the awesome work they create. This happened very recently with Little Odd Forest (both artist name and site)… upon following the links, I ended up on her wonderful site where she sells forest inspired bags and other things. I posted my favorite ones after the jump, check ‘em out. Oh, and if you’ve got a tree loving friend, you’ll really want to check out their items.* =D

Marshall Zipper Pulls by 64Colors

Oh the ever elusive zipper pulls. To some, it was their way of continuing to show off their geekiness with miniature representations of their favorite designer toys– and although this also applied to me, zipper pulls were also a tiny way of rebelling against the proper work attire. Well, Marshall now joins the ranks of munny, gloomy, things that hurt and many other zipper pulls that have come before it. The news make me uber happy, because I’ve shown my love for 64Colors several times– but seeing the image above, I have one concern. What material are they using for these zipper pulls?

From the photo, I can tell they’re not the same material from the 4″ Marshalls. Whatever material it is, is messing with the aesthetic I already associate with Marshall, a sort of matted vinyl plastic if that makes any sense. It captures the essence of a marshmallow a lot more. Either way, I’m sure I’ll still be picking one up– specifically hoping I score the nerdy one, you know, because I’m a nerd. =D

These will be available from Rotofugi end of February/beginning of March and will retail for $3.95.

For The Camera Enthusiast

swissmiss recently posted about this Classy Camera Strap, and I’ve had it on my mind ever since. I picked up photography as a hobby about 3years ago, and I’ll be forever grateful to my Mr. for gifting my my DSLR, but as with everything else in my electronics experience– I like to give them my own personality. For a while, I’d stuck a Harajuku Lovers sticker on it, but that just makes me feel like I defaced it. The classy strap really embodies my vintage taste without being too flashy, sadly I think the $30 pricetag is a bit too steep for my taste, but maybe one of you would love to own it as much as I would.

Nerdy Jewelry Alert: 8-Bit Mario Pendant

I’m still on the search for more pendants to purchase. I love wearing chains or necklaces with geeky pendants or something that’s unique and not seen everyday. I think 8-Bit Mario would be a perfect pendant to add to my collection, wouldn’t you agree? I could show off my geek status, while still being subtly fashionable. ^__^ The best part, it’s silver! The problem with a lot of the video game themed and other geeky jewelry I find on the internet is that they are made from other metals that I’m allergic to. If you feel like me, and are digging this pendant, you can head over to sketchystories’ ETSY account. It’ll cost you $44.

64Colors Tote Bags at BlueQ

In the span of 10 minutes, I’ve discovered BlueQ through the stupendous duo that make up 64Colors. Not only that, but I’ve also found out that the company is owned by two brothers and they’ve been around since “Die Hard. The first one. 1988.” I think that’s a great way to introduce yourself to seekers of information. =D 64Colors just shared that they teamed up with BlueQ to release two tote bags.

“Sweet” measures 15.75″w x 15.35″h x 5.9″d– that seems about the right size to carry everything I need for a weekend at my Mr.’s. “Yum” measures 8.5″w x 10.5″h x 4″d, still big enough for all the crap I lug around. Both bags are made from 95% recycled woven polypropylene. The best part, these bags are super affordable. “Sweet” is retailing for $11.99, while “Yum” is only $9.99!! Hit the links below to purchase. =D

Sweet! Yum!
