Yay!! By the time people see this, it will be my official birthtime! Shockingly enough I was born at 7am, strange since I’m a total night-owl. Never been an early bird, other than for classes. =D Anyway, of all coincidences, Jon Burgerman and Jim Avignon– better known as Anxieteam– will be performing at the Cake Factory. So, I’ll be spending my birthday with them –>
And! If you’d like to see why– you can hit the jump to see their first music video. =D

Damn it! One should only sleep when they’re dead, because when one sleeps they don’t get to share the news first. Look at me getting all competitive about Joe Ledbetter’s collaboration with Motion City Soundtrack. Just shy of a week from MCS’s newest album release, My Dinosaur Life, I managed to score a copy!! Woot-woot! Here’s to having friends in the music business. I’ll be posting my thoughts on the CD over the weekend– the official street date is next week, so maybe I’ll hold off. In the meantime, I recommend checking out MCS’s website– it’s all decked out with Joe Ledbetter’s art.
Also, if you click the large thumbnail on the right, I’ve linked it to the extras page. Joe Ledbetter created several downloadable wallpapers along with icons. If you’re a fan of Ledbetter’s, the art is awesome. I’m especially liking the skeleton wallpaper. If you’re a fan of MCS, then this is a double win. =D
Also, if you’re really a fan of both band and artist, you might be interested in the Deluxe Edition of the album release. It comes with the following:
- HARDBOUND 9X9 CUSTOM BOOK TO HOLD THE BELOW CONTENTS:
- Six double sided 7″ picture discs featuring custom Joe Ledbetter artwork for each track
- SIGNED Pulp Fiction Style Lyric Book
- Full Length 12 track CD
- Exclusive Bonus CD
Just head over here to purchase it. Can’t wait to hear the new CD. =D

Break Up
I came home after work thinking to myself, “I need to write about this artist, I need to write about this artist [referring to Pete Yorn].” Do you know why I needed to write about this artist? I needed to because he is singing with an actress that actually sounds pretty good singing. We get a lot of those actresses turned singer and it’s not always the best thing for them. You start thinking to yourself, “maybe she/he should have stayed acting.” Well not this lady, she can act and apparently sing. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it’s Scarlett Johansson. Amazed? I am. She’s alongside Pete Yorn who plays all the instruments on the album Break Up, which was released May 12, 2009.

I had the pleasure of visiting Neon Monster at the end of the summer, during our San Francisco visit, and I loved it! The shop is a combination of so many of my interests in one. They’re packed with music, toys and comics! If I were in high school, that’d be the place I’d choose to hang out at when cutting classes (that last comment was meant to make me feel cool, NERD for life, I didn’t cut classes).
