Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring happy biddings. Does that saying make sense? I think I meant to ask, did I use it correctly? Either way, I bring news of a chance to own your very own Lou Pimentel art for a VERY affordable price. How affordable you ask? How about $25 affordable? Hit the jump to view more images and read a message from Lou. (more…)

On Monday, on my way to meet up with the Mr. for some yummy Japanese food (food critique coming soon), I walked by Giant Robot NY, which is seriously down the block from me– and realized that something was different. GRNY used to take up two shops– the actual store and the gallery. I noticed that now the gallery was both shop and gallery and next door I’d spotted something familiar– Upper Playground. (more…)

I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE, when two things I am really passionate about, meet in perfect harmony. In this case, Doktor A, who has been dishing out batches of commissioned drawings has taken on the world of Doctor Horrible. We know from previous posts that I absolutely loved the summer internet blockbuster known as Doctor Horrible’s Sing-A-Long, created by Joss Whedon (BtVS, Angel, Firefly). Well, if I had money to spare I would ask Doktor A to hook me up with the same drawing. Whoever commissioned it, so rocks!

I don’t have too much info yet, but the event has an overwhelmingly amazing line up of artists. I can’t wait to see what they all have to offer. If the line up isn’t enough, this is actually an Animal Rescue benefit– who doesn’t like animals? I know we must all love at least 1 species, no? I heart PANDAS and PUPPIES, and MONKEY, and…. the list goes on forever. [Via: TOYTOKYO]

Jon Burgerman has just posted the fella above. I’m a little confused about the description he gave on his Flickr, take a look:
Tiny Hero (made giant) + The Gobbler (made tiny) + massive Dunny from Kid Robot x Stu Witter mad custom skillz + Burgerdoodles = Supercrazy Hero-Gobbler-Dunny Custom edition of one.
Though I am confused about the description, (from what I gather tiny character made big through kidrobot’s 20″ dunny?) I think he looks super cute. He actually looks like a super hero, and I would love it if KidRobot considered making him 8″ for the masses. According to Jon, the dunny will be traveling to KidRobot locations to be on display. I LIKE!

Better stated, JR took over a section of a wall from the school I work at. On Monday, September 22nd, I proceeded to take my class of students out to the garden to allow them some free time, when I’d noticed some sticky white stuff falling from the sky. When I looked up, I realized that an art installation was being put up, and that sticky stuff was actually wheat glue—in case any pervs were interested. (more…)

I absolutely love Brent’s style– it’s not this cutesey stuff that I’m normally into, but he has these very well defined lines and such bold colors, I can’t help but love his intricate work. Not to mention, the man is too cool for words as I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with him a couple of times this year. Well, a buddy of mine wanted his asthetically boring speakers to have a little more style… (more…)

Ladies and Gents, mark your calendars! On September 25th, Kathie Olivas– female artist extraordinaire will be having a LIVE painting at KidRobot NY. What does that mean? That I am so there!!
Earlier this year I’d missed Tara McPherson’s live painting, but not this time. I refuse to miss it! Kathie will be working on a 4′ dunny for KidRobot and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with– must study and observe the talented beauty.

[BTW, print can be purchased on Kanye's site for $10]
I should start by directing you to Kanye West’s blog. Why so? Because, Kanye’s latest album launched a collaboration between Kanye and Murakami. If you haven’t peeped the latest video by the two- head on over to the Mr.’s blog. That video is amazing and I am seriously overwhelmed with joy to witness such a collaboration.
Anyway– it seems that Fall Out Boy has jumped on the band wagon and has collaborated with Luke Chueh for their upcoming album. You can hit the jump to check it out. I love it!! I am a huge fan of Luke Chueh and he’s one of many artists that I wish I knew about sooner– someday, I shall own something from Luke– for now, I might consider buying Fall Out Boy’s album just for his art. Is that mean? (more…)

I woke up this morning to an email from Dalek announcing his newest print (which is now sold out.). Someday, and I really hope its someday soon, I hope to own some original artwork from Dalek. I really do love his space monkeys and in the mean time I’d appreciate any of his Space Monkey blind box figures, but it seems they’re sold out everywhere– you simply can’t snooze when it comes to these artists.
Anyway– Last night, I’d also spotted a collaboration between Dalek, Internal Affairs and Triumvir. Check after the jump for more info. (more…)
