You know what I love about Flickr? I attend shows in NYC, take pictures to share on my stream and blog; and with the right tags, the artists find the pictures and suddenly you’re introduced to their world. You follow a link to their webpage where you discover all the awesome work they create. This happened very recently with Little Odd Forest (both artist name and site)… upon following the links, I ended up on her wonderful site where she sells forest inspired bags and other things. I posted my favorite ones after the jump, check ‘em out. Oh, and if you’ve got a tree loving friend, you’ll really want to check out their items.* =D

This bag was the second item that caught my attention (the first one isn’t listed on their site, so click here to see it). The Woodlands Purse, is a very clever purse  that emulates a tree trunk. The leaves were just an extra added touch to what looks like a stunning and unique bag. Since I’ve never seen the bag in person, my comments are purely based on my observations of their photos. This bag was made with cotton denim and twill. And will cost you $48.75USD, prices on site are automatically listed in Singaporian dollars.

Tree Trunk and a Leaf is another tree inspired bag. I love the added detail on the branch trunks sticking out on the sides. Unlike the previous design, this one’s lead is a removable coin purse. This bag costs $65 dollars, but because it’s main purpose it to be a laptop bag and therefore has extra padding. Again, it comes in several colors, so I’m sure they’ll have something you’ll definitely like.

Hoot the Owl Bag is just awesome! Since last year (I blame Julie West, Leontine Greenberg and Guy McKinley) I’ve been into birds– owls in particular really call my name. So, I’m sure you have an idea about my reaction and attraction to this bag. I especially love that it’s not quite an outright owl, but the placement of the eyes and fabric placement let your imagination fill in the concept. This bag is still more expensive that the two previous ones, coming in at $70. Although there are several choices, this was my favorite version.

When The Wind Rustles (Chatting Matryoshka Dolls) looks more like a “typical” bag, but once more the colors and fabrics really separated from the billions of bags that you see around the world. I like the shape and really, the nesting dolls were what called me to it. This one costs $75– it seems the more I show, the more expensive they get, right? Well, the next ones are cheaper, but smaller and of different uses.

Following the same tree motif, these Forest Tree Trunk Wristlets are a perfect present if you don’t have the cash to buy the bags. These coin purses, or small items bag costs $22.50.

A while ago I remember a friend searching for a passport case. I spotted these and fell in love– I also imagined handing my passport to airport security and getting a strange reaction.^___^ I figured, hey, if she needed one and I dig these– I’m sure others might be interested. So here they are. These are the Passport Foille Monster and go for $18.75.

Finally the Birds of the Same Feather Coasters set was the last item[s] I wanted to share. I will follow-up on the birds obsession comment and thought these would surely get the attention of any guests I have in my home. They’re so damn adorable and I think the fact that they’re made out of corduroy make the deal even sweeter. The set of 4 will run you $18.

I’m afraid that I’m in love with not only these items, but most of their inventory. It sucks for me because well, the items are pricey, but from the photos I can tell a lot of love and hard work goes into these items. Although I wouldn’t casually spend monies I don’t have on their bags, I am keeping this on my list of shops to purchase unique gifts for my vegan/vegetarian and overall environmentally friendly friends. The colors are bright, the bags are unique and the quality seems great. If any of you out there have purchased from this shop, or make a future purchase please share your thoughts below.
