And so, ladies and gentlemen, above you’ll find the latest project my Mr. and I have decided to dive into. Artist Series, is just what the name entails– we’ll be going around, hopefully, to the homes of NYC artists; and invade their homes, their studios, their kitchens, etc.; and learn more about them, their collections, and their current projects. The first artist, as you can tell from the title post is: Lou Pimentel. Keep reading to see images of some of Lou’s work, and read a little more about the CONTEST!

LPLego

I’m sure if you saw the video, you’ll recognize the three pieces above to be Lou’s thesis. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun looking at a thesis, as I have with Lou’s pieces. My thesis will be in written form, and I can’t guarantee people will react the same way. Lego for the win!

LPninkechimps

The three chimps above, “Brooklyn Apes: Red Swoosh Edition,” were the nike heads he sold during this year’s NYCC. I saw these in person, and they were great! The middle one was my favorite, due to its rounded pink belly– and I also think the teeth had something to do with it. =)

LP cherry

Finally, I wanted to show the cherry character that Lou and myself were speaking about during his Twinkie vs Cupcake battle scene. The cherry made it’s first appearance during that painting, and it turns out, that it’s made an appearance in both male and female form– but they don’t have names!

The Contest: Pay attention now, because this contest rules in so many ways! Basically, Lou is in search of two names. One for his male cherry, and of course, one for the female. Your job, and this is the awesome part, is to name them! You can leave two names below in the comments section– one male, one female. AND, a rare occurence here on IHCS, you can comment multiple times for this contest.

Two winners will be picked next week. Maybe it’ll be the same person, maybe not. One winner will be picked for the male name, and one for the female. So look at that, multiple entries and two chances to win.

The Prize: Now comes the awesome part. Not only does the winner get bragging rights about naming Lou’s characters (which I am totally jealous of), but Lou will also be creating TWO 4″x6″ canvases of his cherry character to mail out to the winners. That means, if you named the female, and you win– you can expect to get an email from us to get your address so we can mail you an original canvas of the female cherry character, or vice versa. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

Now, if you don’t win– although, I’m wishing you all plenty of luck on this difficult task– don’t worry because you can always purchase a custom or canvas from Lou’s shop. He doesn’t have anything on there right now because the man is working hard to submit customs for some upcoming shows. Also, if you want more updates on Lou, you can follow him on Twitter.

Feel free to leave feedback on the comments section too. Thanks for checking out the video, and good luck on the contest.
