Last Thursday was a pretty hectic day for me, with private affairs and not one, but two events happening that night, I was surprised I was able to keep all my dates. My first stop of the two events was Bossy Bear and Friends’ invasion of Yoyamart. In the photo above you’ll spot David Horvath posing with Bossy Bear’s favorite companion, Turtle. The Turtle he so happens to be holding is going to accompany the 12″ Bossy Bear that came out 2 years ago. He should be out later this year, although I didn’t confirm an actual date of release, but it seems he’ll hit the streets somewhere along April or May. I’m also not sure about the price point. Hit the jump to see what other sneak previews David & Toy2R had in store for us.

First up was a look at the newest addition to Bossy Bear and Friend’s gang: Crocadoca. This is clearly not a finished project as you can tell from the paint job surrounding Crocadoca’s eyes. Toy2R is one of my favorite production companies because they have impecable quality control, at least in my experience. Bossy, which cost a mere $10, had one of the most impressive paint jobs I’ve seen in a mass produced run– and I expect nothing less from the company. I can’t wait for Crocadoca’s release which will be somewhere along March or April. He’ll be retailing for about $15, as I’ve been informed by Toy2R that they had to go up on their $10 price point due to new toy laws which require extra QC– that’s fine by me. =)

Now the reason for the celebration on Thursday was really to witness the introduction of these: “Day Glow/ GID” Turtles. They are amazing! They retailed for $15 each and were released in 5 different neon colors: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue and DIY White. All of them glow-in-the-dark which is just how the Mr. likes it. =) They measure about 4″ in height and were all limited to 100 pieces each. I’m not sure whether there will be an open run later down the line, but from my understanding– if you didn’t get them at the event, then you missed out on them.

Red Flocked Turtle

Don’t worry though– the same colors are going to drop somewhere around SDCC time, but they’ll be flocked versions of the ones that were just released. The flocked versions will also GID and cost $15, I think– don’t quote me on the cost.

12" Bossy Bear Wood Version

One of the final pieces that brought a range of emotions was the 12″ Bossy Bear with a wood finish. Being a “step-owner” of a 12″ Bossy Bear myself, the extravagant size adds a lot to the joys of owning it– and the wood finish really adds an interesting aesthetic to the figure– but I just don’t know whether or not I want it yet. Is that weird? I feel like I’m betraying my love for Bossy. Either way, as soon as I’d spotted it, I though of my friend Tim who I think has a thing for wood finishes? I’m not sure if he does or not– but I still thought of him. No word on this Bossy’s release, but I will post when I hear any additional information.
