Upper Playground now in the East Village
On Monday, on my way to meet up with the Mr. for some yummy Japanese food (food critique coming soon), I walked by Giant Robot NY, which is seriously down the block from me– and realized that something was different. GRNY used to take up two shops– the actual store and the gallery. I noticed that now the gallery was both shop and gallery and next door I’d spotted something familiar– Upper Playground.
I’ve been insanely jealous of (predominantly) the West Coast because I’m always reading about the David Choe and Sam Flores (and many more) contributions– and now, a shop is located down the street. I was very hesitant to post about it because I didn’t know if this was temporary situation or permanent, but a staff member confirmed me and now Juxtapoz has too!
I’ll be stopping by today on my way to KR for the Jeremyville signing and hope to have photos to share by tomorrow.
