Devilrobots: The Tofu Oyako Devil Mix

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I find myself saying: “something is my favorite,” and I swear, I’m not lying. Devilrobots- makers of some of my very favorite characters will be dropping a new line of Tofu Kubricks this November. What’s so special about this series? It doesn’t just focus on their Tofu Oyako character, but brings their other popular characters to the same medium. Who does this include? Evirob, Maffy, Kaizoku Chan, HellCats & Kiiro. I’m looking forward to owning both Evirob and Kiiro. Keep a look out for them, I will update when word of their exact date of release is known. SDCC: Uglydolls

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I want to start this post by sharing an anecdote. In September I will begin my full-time job as a dean of students. I am still in undergraduate school and chose to take the job because I love working with youth. When June came along, I was questioning whether or not to get a summer job. I still technically wasn’t on the DOE budget, so I wasn’t going to get summer pay. Suddenly, I was presented with a stack of checks, which solidified my decision to not work for 2 months and be a bum until my very hectic schedule took over (full-time work, school and part-time blogging). I thought it was a great decision, until– SDCC came around.

Originally, I was supposed to attend SDCC this year. I have family in San Diego so I didn’t have to worry about room and board. But, 3 very important electronic equipments broke down and I canceled my trip. Now, as exclusives surface still on a daily basis, my heart is shredding into little pieces. The latest? This year’s exclusive Ice Bat. He’s only $20 and is limited to 400, I hope that enough are left for me to purchase when I start working again. Hit the jump to see the news David has just unleashed. Anyway, Jon has currently updated his flickr to release info on a rubber case he’s created for Apple’s iPod Touch. Oh the iTouch, what a sleek and sexy piece of equipment.

He’s also created two designs for the iPhone. Though I don’t currently own an iPhone (someday), I would love to display my love for his characters through my phone. Hit the jump for the other designs and purchasing info. (more…)

Tokidoki: Cocommando

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

As SDCC approached, my excitement for tokidoki vinyls grew out of proportion. The final blow was when tokidoki and strangeco announced the Onitsuka tigers, which I still hope to attain the white one though I’m not in SDCC. Now, VinylPulse has reported on yet another figure that I MUST get. His name? Cocommando, protector of the jungle.

I wanted to note my delight on Simone bringing more male figures to life in 3D version. This fella looks to be about 6″, which is a perfect size. I don’t know if he’ll come with his very own tank (since he’s not pictured in it), I hope he does, but if he doesn’t– it’s alright in my book. No word on quantity or price. I wants!! (more…)

Kaw’s JPP

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I don’t know exactly what it is [refer to photo above], but Kaws has just announced that they’ll be available online tomorrow at noon. Whatever he is, I want him. I don’t care which colorway either. I got no information of how much it’s going to cost, though I imagine it’ll cost a pretty  penny– and I also don’t know anything about size or quantity. Does anyone out there know, please do share.

Btw, he’s also having these up for sale at: OriginalFake on Saturday. (more…)

A Nerd’s Sneaker Dream Come True

Monday, July 21st, 2008

I’ve been wanting to purchase the Compisition Notebooks Dunks for a while. I’d forgotten about them until a friend posted them on her flickr account and they began haunting my dreams all over again. Now, my symptoms have worsen, since the Composition Notebook dunks were also released in the AirMax 90’s design, which is my favorite sneaker.

What does this mean… I’m going to have many problems sleeping until I get my pair. My days of wearing sneakers are nearing their end as my boss no longer wants me to wear them… I plan on rebelling somewhere along the mid-year report cards time. I figure if my sneakers scream “education,” he’ll have no troubles with them. Can a New Yorker point me to the right direction in purchasing these? Danke.

p.s. I’ve upgraded to WP 2.6, so I’ll be doing some maintanance, please bear with me if things are a little slow. I do however, love it so far– great features.

My TokyoPlastic Requests

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

We all know, from past posts with anything regarding TokyoPlastic [refer to these posts], that I love TokyoPlastic. All aspects of the duo make me happy; the people are awesome gents, their vinyl toys are simple yet amazing, and their flash videos seriously leave my eyes wanting more. Any time there are news or rumors of any TokyoPlastic figure, I suddenly find myself on their site all over again watching all of their works all over again. This time, I thought I’d take a different approach and show you the characters I want to be brought to life in 3D form so I can add them to my collection.

Let’s start with the fella above who’s part of Drum Machine’s opening sequence. He looks similar to baby koguma in body and shape, except this guy has headphones and should come equipped with drums. I acknowledge the fact that I’ll most likely never attain a black or red 4″ geisha, which came with a drum/speaker, therefore, I’m trying to get a set any way I can. Besides, when you see the little guy playing the drum, the expression on his face is filled with so much effort. Andy, Sam, please take note of this. Danke! Hit the jump to see more characters. SDCC 2008: Kissaki Sandstorm Colorway

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

So, just shy of a week away from SDCC, and Erick Scarecrow has confirmed his attendance to SDCC this year. What is he going to be debuting? His dangerously serene Kissaki. I purchased the first release of his Kissaki during NYCC and now, he releases this! Did you notice the anger there? It wasn’t against the figure as much as yet another thing to add to my list of demands! I have to admit that the teal in her hair is really resonating for me. Great job Erick, now, what happened with Chelly Chainsaw?
