And so, we are nearing the dateline for the upcoming I Am 8-Bit show taking place in LA this year. If you know nothing about the show, think of it like this: art inspired by classic gaming. The sneak peeks are beginning to surface; along with it, my desire to live on the West Coast just so I could attend all these awesome shows. The show is going to be opening August 14th from 8pm- Midnight at the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery.

I bring news of 5 different artists and their upcoming t-shirts. First I’ll focus on Bubi Au Yeung’s shirts, and then you can hit the jump to find out (and see) the shirts that Doktor A, Tara McPherson, Jon Burgerman and Dalek are releasing.
I love Bubi! If you don’t know who she is, the above photo should give you an inclination. She’s the talented artist that brought us Treeson (and all it’s colorways/sizes). She recently shared the newest additions to her Zazzle shop where she sells her own apparel.

Be Different is the newest addition to her site. She has it available in several cuts for both men and women, and also has some key chains, hats and a mug!! I think I might be picking up the mug for myself, because I have a mug collection that needs some growing. I also happen to love her previous design:

I am actually quite in love with the expression on her character’s face. hee-hee. I say, I want to ask Bubi to turn me into a Treeson. The very first image is a picture of Bubi (treeson-ized). I like that she’s able to do a simple design with such limited colors. Great job Bubi! To check out her shop, click this link. Now, keeping reading to see stuff from some of our other favorite artists.

It’s quite a pleasure to be included in a press email, and I have to say that I’m glad that I was included for this show– the works seem to be impecible. I am quite delighted to share news of Intoxicated Demon’s Addicted to Details show taking place in Berlin. Hit the jump for more info.

Ah, Simone, how I love to watch you. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing/hanging with Simone once or twice this year and I can honestly tell you he’s a great guy. I love being around him- granted, it may have everything to do because I am one of his many fangirls, but who’s keeping track right?
Karmaloop, who I happen to favor in terms of tokidoki products, just had an interview with Mr. Tokidoki himself. The best part? Getting a glimpse of his sketchbook as he randomly turns the pages. I shall steal this book, my ninja outfit is on it’s way here. Mwahahaha!

Well, I am quite grateful that MINDstyle will be producing a second series of Kathie’s Scavenger Children figures. I am in love with Kathie Olivas, I believe I profess my love for her every time I get a chance to write about her, and was delighted when her first series was announced. I unfortunately thought that the figures were being held for me, and they were gone when I went to collect. Woops! Clearly I was crushed, but thank the lords that there were SDCC exclusives which came along with the announcement of her second series.
So, what is in store for us with this series? Well, from the looks of it, more of her crazier designs like the squid girl pictured above(squid from Brandt) and I wants me a raygun!! Hit the jump to see more. [Via.]

Well, we all know I was heartbroken about not going to SDCC– but thankfully I had/have loads of friends who took pictures there and filled me in on things. Here, however, we have word of Brant Peters’ upcoming mini figures from MINDstyle. First, MINDstyle brought us the wonder of affordable [yet beautifully translated] Kathie Olivas Scavengers, and now they’re bringing us Serv-O-Matic!
I ended up getting screwed over on the Kathie Olivas figures– therefore, I’m not going to sleep on these when they’re released. And now, though I think of both artists as individuals– I feel it is my duty to say that both Brandt and Kathie are my favorite artist couple. They have so much talent and when I was in their presence, they were simply awesome!
Life’s a bit loopy right now, so apologies about the lack of updates.

I’ll say it once and it’ll be enough: I will recognize an Andrew Bell anywhere. I’m trying my best to keep my head on my shoulders when it comes to all the news/exclusives from SDCC. Above, spotted on Vinyl Pulse, is a Mad*l- part of Mad’s Phase 3- created by Andrew Bell.
I’d look at the fella’s face and immidiately recognized Andrew Bell’s signature look. Apparently, Andrew has created the guy above for Frozen Empire. He should be dropping some time in December, how fitting. I hope he’ll cost approximately as much as Mad’s previous releases ($40-$50). I also want to know how many of him will be released, since clearly I want to get my hands on one. And, does his head glow-in-the-dark? Now, that would be even more awesome!

The fella above is most recognized as the Robot who came on the screen before the phenomena that was Cloverfield. Others will recognize him from LOST, but I don’t watch the show (sue me), therefore, I cannot relate. I have to comment that when I went to see Cloverfield, I was highly distracted by the thought of this robot, and now, Bad Robot has brought their mascot/logo to 3D form. I’m not sure whether he’s coming to us in vinyl form, resin, metal or wood; but he’s arriving in a limited batch of 500 pieces. What do I say? Sign me up for one please, stat!
I love ROBOTS and since I’d spotted him on the big screen– I was already dreaming about owning him. Had I been at Comic Con this weekend, I would’ve headed over to their booth to try to win one of the 3 robots being given away. Damn it! Why?!! There are unfortunately no more details, but I hope someone who’s at the con reads this and tried to find out tomorrow, yes? Thank you.
