A Tokidoki Valentine

Adios Tokidoki

Adios is the sweetest little Grim on the planet. He eats a lollipop, realizes how deliciously tasty it is, and the first thing he thinks of is- how much Ciao Ciao would love to have one. He steals from the monkeys, faces the “evil” and conniving leader of the Moofia gang, and swims the depths of the lake (?) to get to his sweetheart. Oh, if only all the fellas were like this. Check out Tokidoki’s Valentine edition video at tokidoki.it and more screen shots after the jump. (more…)

I’ve got Digsby!

Digsby

Uh– a while back I wrote about getting Trillian Astra, the newest (still in beta) version of Trillian. It’s a multi-messaging system. Well, now Digsby has invaded my laptop [many thanks to my Mr.]. I’m in love with their character design, and already I’m digging the look (and the messaging choices). I’ve got myspace chat, facebook updates, email (+gtalk). What’s better than having this new beta? Uh, the instant messaging widget that comes with it. Meebo does something similar, but this is cuter. ^_^

Anyway, if I happen to be logged on and you’re on the site, you can feel free to chat with me. Woohoo!! I’m very curious to see how many new people I will talk to. Going to sleep now… it’s time to get ready for the week ahead.

Tomopop

Tomopop

I’ve become rather addicted to reading and subscribing to blogs in the past year. The additional introduction to Google Reader was one that I really needed in my life, and can’t figure out how I was keeping track of blogs before that. Anytime I stumble upon [not the bookmarking tool] a blog, I just click their rss feed and I’m connected forever. Well, at least until I decide I’m bored or the writer decides to stop writing. On Monday, clicking from one link to the next, I came across a new “toy” blog/ soon to feature a forum. Tomopop! I’d never heard of this site before, and after some digging, more like clicking through more links, I reached their “homeland” or the agency in charge of making their site a possibility. [Modern Method] It turns out, that they’re the people responsible for bringing us Destructoid, or the “look and design” of Destructoid. If you don’t know what it is, click the link. It’s a gaming blog/forum. If you play Bomberman on XB360 you’d also know their mascot’s costume is up for grabs in the game. I love it!!

Back to the post at hand… I am quite impressed and excited about Tomopop. Mainly because it’s not really focusing on upcoming toys or artist’s toys, etc. They’re not a new Vinyl Pulse, Plastic and Plush, etc. They’re simply there to offer a space where all toy collectors can feel comfortable about “not wanting to grow up!”  Granted, I think that’s the reason why these other sites exists, but check out part of their mission statement:

So what is Tomopop about? Well, the best way to describe it is an enthusiast cutting edge toy blog. By enthusiast, I mean something very specific: This blog is not about immediate news, although we may post it from time to time. This blog is run by (and will be read by) hardcore enthusiasts, the core word there that I want to stress to you being enthusiasm. We would like for Tomopop to be a place where we can all enjoy our inability to grow up when it comes to our toy collections. With features such as Big Kid of the Week focusing on our readers’ passion for collecting, we invite you to be as much a part of Tomopop as we are.

So if you’re all about the toy blogs, add this one to your bookmarks, I’m already liking what I’m reading. Plus, you haven’t missed much as the site went live just last month [January]. You’ve got time to catch up and get involved in the forums and conversations. :-)

P.S. very cute mascot!

Wall-E Update

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

There’s an updated trailer for Wall.E!! I’m so excited. I almost didn’t want to watch it because I didn’t want too many details, but I  chose to press play anyway. I yelled during the middle of the trailer. I’m ecstatic right now and I can’t wait to see it. By the way, have you seen the Wall.E ‘action figure’? Hit the jump to see a pic. (more…)

Change is in the Air…

Question Mark

If you’ve stopped by the site, you may have noticed a number of ‘physical’ changes to the site. I wanted to apologize, I’ve never used my maintenance mode plugin as much as I did this week. The bottom line is, I’m not satisfied with the look of my blog. This has a lot to do with the fact that I am not the one who designed the blog. I went through two themes that were great, and was slightly satisfied with them because I used my own photos as banners, but until I make it 100% mine, I’m going to keep wanting to change it all. I hope you bare with me through this time… picking a look and sticking to it is very important to me. I’m in the process of “designing” a character that will transcend my blog and be let loose into the general blogosphere. Does it even make any sense?

Nike SB Zoom Air

It’s been months since I’ve purchased a new pair of sneakers, right? I don’t even remember anymore. I’ve been having loads of bad luck in the financial department. Eh, I’m trying not to get hung up on it, but it’s so difficult to do so when there are so many things I want. The sneakers pictured above are the Nike SB Zoom Air Paul Rodriguez II. They’re part of this month’s sneaker releases, there are at least 2 more pair of sneakers I’m interested in getting, but those will do for now. So, if anyone has some spare change lying around, wanna send it to me to make my wish of purchasing these come true? I know you want to see a smile on my face. :-)

Newest Dark Knight Trailer!!

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Hahahaha!! That is an amazing video right there. Someone out there in the world has decided to recreate the Dark Knight trailer in lego form! I tell you some people really have talents, and apparently lots of time on their hands too…

Munny: Undead Zombie

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Joe Vollan, originally uploaded by schmancytoys.

Last week, I posted the shot my Mr. posted of the custom munny I got him. Since it was Resident Evil themed, I thought I would post the “target”… and Undead/Zombie munny. Check out the intricate detail in the decay of skin. Awesome job!!! BTW, follow the flickr link to see more images and works of the artist.

Toy Love 2008

The ultimate vinyl blogger Andy [believe me; it's a well-deserved title] from Toys-r-Evil has just shared news of a baby treeson giveaway!! The giveaway, kindly donated by Andy Woo from Crazy Label, will be given away to one lucky winner who manages to take a photo of vinyls in love. Well, I think it’s Toys in Love, not just vinyls. What’s that mean? It’s time to pull out your camera and show us a love story through your toys. If you’re part of the flickr community, you can join the Toy Love 2008 group and submit no more than 2 photos. If not, you can follow the link below to his blog post (which you should do anyway to read all the rules) and email Andy your image. I am super excited, and can’t wait to take my toy shots… I’ve got ideas cooking already. The deadline for photo additions is February 22nd, 2008 (Singapore time— does anyone know the time there?).

Super Bowl 2008

Monday, February 4th, 2008

I didn’t watch the Super Bowl [I know, BLASPHEMY!!], but I do know the Giants won and they’re a NY team so– YAY!! Part of the excitement of the Super Bowl though, are the commercials. I’ve officially watched them all, I know, I have no life. Hulu has allowed me the opportunity to watch and rate them all. If you missed some, follow the link [Hulu.com]. They’re still not open to the public, but they have made an exception and opened up a whole new page to let the public view the video on one page. The following were some of my favorites.

Robots always rule and I’m excited for the upcoming release of Wall-E; and I’ve always been a fan of Peanuts, so the Balloons Coca-cola commercial is GREAT! I also enjoyed the baby commercials with E-trade, but I didn’t want to post them. Which one’s did you enjoy? Oh, and though I didn’t post it, the Thriller Life water commercial was also awesome. Geckos dancing to Thriller is too good.
