Munny: Tide

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

It must be stated right now that this munny might as well have been made for me. Granted, it takes me a month [if not longer] for me to do my laundry, but in all honesty, I really ENJOY doing my laundry. I especially love folding my clothing and packaging it in perfect square bundles. [haha!] This munny was spotted on flickr, and I knew I had to share. Check him out.

Custom Munny: Tide

I’m not sure what I love most about this munny. It could be the cloth, the iron, but I really think it’s the washing machined lodged in his BELLY!! [hahahaha!!] I have no additional information other than his owner’s flickr account. Please visit the flickr page to check out more images.

TV: Bionic Woman

Bionic Woman

I’ve been meaning to watch Bionic Woman since it premiered last fall, but for some odd reason I just didn’t want to give up my bandwidth to it for fear that it would SUCK big time. Well, last night, thanks to the godsend [a little dramatic there ain't I?] that is hulu.com, I watched the first five episodes. My thoughts? I suppose I give it a thumbs up. In case you don’t know what Bionic Woman is about, a woman’s human parts get replaced with robotic, “bio-tech,” parts. I think so far, the series is serving up a descent amount of drama for my blood. I only watched to episode 5, so don’t spoil it for me people.

I have to put this out there though. There are times that the protagonist, whose name escapes me now and am too sleepy to look up, overdoes her “acting”. She is an older sister who is trying to juggle saving the world and being a responsible parental figure to her sister. I did have a problem with the fact that she’s always so worried about her, but she’s 15 years old is constantly left alone on weekends when she goes away on missions. Uh… you’re leaving a teenager in a house by herself? Maybe her brain suffered some damage. I kid. ^_^

[Note: BSG Spoiler up ahead]

On a geeky note: I ♥ the fact that both Starbuck and the Chief [Battlestar Galactica references] are in this series. I especially find it ironic that Starbuck plays the part of the “original” bionic woman, when she’s a cylon in BSG. I hope I didn’t just ruin the series for someone. I am especially sorry if I did. She’s so HOT!!! When is BSG coming back?

Movies: Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆

I shall start this post with a very quick, my Mr. so ROCKS! He was a very stellar super star this weekend. He remembered that I was interested in watching Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, and downloaded it for my viewing pleasure. I have to admit that though I really wanted to see this movie, I feared spending $11 on something that might’ve ended up being trash. I was right, I don’t believe the movie would’ve been worth the $11, but it definitely was worth my time.

The movie follows the cooky world that is Mr. Magorium’s magical toy store. The 243 year old eccentric toy owner is ready to depart from our world and decides to leave his toy shop to Mahonney, Natalie Portman. She totally understands the magic of the toy shop, but doesn’t have enough confidence in herself to run the shop when Magorium departs. I must say, this film definitely connects with the child in me. Exploring the world that is the mind of a child is amazing, and learning to believe in yourself is a lesson worth learning no matter how old you are. I guess with those words, you can tell that the movie was slightly cheesy.

Anyway, I wonder whether anyone else saw it. What’d you think of it? I clearly liked it, but an added bonus was spotting all the vinyl/plush toys I am addicted to. This included many variations of David Horvath’s Uglydolls [btw, dancing Wage's are AWESOME!], Tokyo Plastic’s Opera Man, and James Jarvis’ Amos. It was vinyl/plushy heaven for me.

Colors

I believe there comes a time where the sneaker fiends mesh with the designers of the world. I saw this photo, now I forget where because I’ve had this image for weeks waiting to share it, and thought it was a fascinating combination of two worlds. What do you guys think? I almost want to go out and purchase all colors possible and create a color wheel? No? I think you want me to.

Blogging, oh how I love it. Clearly. I opened up this site because I felt myspace blogging wasn’t enough for me. [haha] I am always subscribing to new blogs/site everyday and with my subscription I also admire the work people put into their site. I pick up on things that look cool, sleek, clean, simple, etc. When I get into things, I get into them hardcore. This also means learning html/css to make great looking/functional sites. Well, Honeyee has become a gem for my eyes. I’ve never actually been to this site before so I don’t know too much about its origins/purpose. Some things are in English, others in what I believe to be Japanese, but I’m not sure. Google Reader recommended this site to me and I ended up subscribing to KAWS’ blog [vinyl toy extraordinaire] without visiting the site. When he updated his blog, I decided to check out his style.

Honeyee Blogs

What I didn’t realize was that his blog was part of a site that contained other people’s blogs. Some names I recognize, others- not so much. But the page’s design is what stuck out the most and I’m in total blog design heaven. Check out the  screenshot and then visit the site. The way it works, the colors represent how long ago the blogger updated his/her blog. Isn’t that amazing. It’s simple and clean, yet very creative and colorful. I believe the colors breakdown as follows: red= 0-12hrs, yellow= 12-24hrs, blue= 24-36hrs, and green= 36-48hrs. I love it, I only wish I could create something like this, although I think the web page designer used flash too. Eh, someday I suppose. [HoneyEe.com]

Munny: Royboy

Royboy

Custom Toy Lab, a site I frequent way too often, posted this fella a while back. I am AMAZED at the work this person did. Unfortunately there is a link to the artist’s page, but it doesn’t provide much info about the process. You can contact him for a commission though. I will simply admire the awesomeness that is this robot munny. Robots are one of my favorite things in the world, I used to have a tab dedicated to the love, but then I decided to be a little minimalist and cut it out. I might just bring it back. Deathbot Black Suit

I’ve been holding out on this post because I was looking for the picture I took of my friend’s Deathbot… but it seems I simply can’t find it. Oh well, that just makes me sad. Anyway, GamaGo’s image will have to make do to share the following news. I got an email from them about a special deal they’ve got going on. If you order $120 or more worth of merchandise they’ll send you a Black Suit Deathbot. According to their site, it will not appear in your bill or confirmation, they’ll just send one out while supplies last. So if you love buying their products and were looking forward to purchasing the Black Suit colorwave, get it NOW!!

365 Challenge

Day Two

Day Two [I will number them on the bottom right corner]

Last night I decided I wanted to participate in the 365 Photo Challenge (<– my title to it). What is it? It’s when you take a picture a day, EVERYDAY! At the end, your results is a packet (in my case a file) of 365 photos. I’ve decided to do it on me, because I’m vain. ^_^ I kid!! Though my Mr. totally calls me that because I like taking pictures of myself. But to be quite honest, I’d like to see how my POV [point-of-view] changes/progresses throughout the year. I hope I can make this commitment. That’s one WHOLE year, and I believe this year is a leap year so it may be 366 photos!

I have also decided to kick off a 365 project for my toys. But I won’t start that till my birthday because toys are totally special to me and I want it to be even more memorable. If you’re on Flickr, feel free to add me. [saki-waki] is my user name, without the brackets. Also if you have any tips, I would really appreciate them. Thanks.

Movies during the Holiday

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I haven’t posted my reviews for the movies that I went to see during the holiday vacation, and since I’ve fallen so behind I thought I’d trunk them into one post. Sorry about that. I saw 4 movies that I’ve been anticipating for a while and one that my brother dragged me to, Alien v. Predator. The movies were, placed in the order of viewing; I am Legend, Sweeney Todd, Juno and August Rush. Hit the jump to read my thoughts. Enjoy!

Line Rider Updates

Friday, January 4th, 2008

These are some good news for me. A while back I wrote about Line Rider, please check the post for details, and today– The Tanooki reported Line Rider for the Nintendo Wii. Check out the video… I have to say that I think I may have liked it more before the red was added in. I kid!! :-)
