I Heart Cool Stuff

I thought I would start the very first post of 2008 with a couple shows taking place in NYC. The artists are some of my favs, as I have mentioned countless times before. The very first show will be the release of Tristan Eaton’s Tag Team dunny. It will be available in two colorwaves, pink and black, and they come with an additional fat cap- hence the ‘tag team’ title. I like the black colorwave a lot more than the pink. It may have something to do with the kick of blue in it. Who knows for sure. Hopefully I’ll have cash to pick one of these up for myself. The show will be on Thursday, January 17th, in NYC and the 18th in Miami. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there. This will officially be the 3rd time I meet Eaton, let’s see if he remembers me. He was sort of induced with liquor when we spoke BOTH times, so I won’t hold it against him if he doesn’t remember me. Hit the jump to see what other shows are coming up.

Saturday, February 23rd, Tara McPherson will be having a solo exhibit over at the Jonathan Levine Gallery. I’m not sure if this is her first time showing her pieces there, but I think it’s pretty cool that she gets a solo. I think she’s awesome and I am in love with a lot of her prints and toys. I wish I was in the vinyl scene a lot sooner so I could purchase a lot of her previous vinyls. I’m so jealous of those who own them.

Following Tara’s show, in May, Tim Biskup will finally be in NYC. I am overwhelmed with excitement for this show. Opening night will be May 17th, from 7-9pm. Both shows are open to the public, but I called the gallery to put my name on a “list” JUST IN CASE!! I really don’t want to miss my opportunity to meet Tim. Tigerlily is one of my favorite vinyls and GamaGo just rocks. Yay!! Hope to see some of you there. Peacey!
