Tokidoki Love

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

This is a quick post, it lets you guys know I’m still alive and it gives you an update on upcoming tokidoki clothing. I am a huge fan of the tokidoki clothing, mainly the shirts, but I really focus on their vinyls. I can’t help it, I’m an addict. Anyway, the following is an upcoming Valentine’s Day themed tokidoki shirt.

My usual reaction when I see new tokidoki apparel is glittery eyes, but this shirt in particular has really caught my interest. It has a lot to do with my favorite little reaper, Adios, and the balloon he’s holding. The balloon looks a lot like the balloons Tara McPherson drew in my notebook of souls. Well, her’s were less skull-like, but I can’t help noticing the similarity. If you want to purchase this shirt or check out other tokidoki clothing items, follow the link. This shirt will cost you $44.

Why So Serious?

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Joker PosterI went to see I Am Legend this weekend. That means, I got to enjoy the new Batman (The Dark Knight) trailer and the great acting that Will Smith provides the public with. I will write my thoughts on the movie some other time, I need to get to sleep now. I did, however, want to share the picture I took of the new Joker poster. I must admit that I am really looking forward to seeing Heith Ledger’s delivery of the joker. Jack Nicholson is a tough Joker to live up to, in my opinion. Anyway, click on the thumbnail to see.

Also, I saw little Ms. Gyllenhaal, better known as the new Rachel Dawes. I am curious to see her in this role as well. I love her as an actress but I don’t think she’s really the ‘hottie’ that Batman desires. Other than her performance in The Secretary, she isn’t HOT. What do you guys think? Of course, Christian Bale is still our beloved hero, yay! He’s such a hunk! Anyway, that’s the end of my Christian Bale lust. I am off to sleep now, I think. I have 2 finals this week and my 2 research papers. Then, its over!

Excitement: Where the Wild Things Are

Monday, December 17th, 2007

I remember being young and much more easily impressed then I am now. Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favorite books (in English). I learned to read Spanish first, then English, in case anyone was interested. Anyway, you guys can imagine the excitement I felt when I found out that the book will now be adapted to film. Check out this image I stole borrowed from /Flim.

WTWTA

I recommend you read the book to your young ones (if you’ve got one) or even read it for fun. The book follows this boy named Max, whose mother punishes him for chasing their dog around the house with a fork. While his on punishment, wild things are growing in his room and even strange creatures. He challenges the creatures and in doing so, becomes the king of the land. During his journey he realizes how homesick he is and decides to go back home.

OOOh! I can’t wait.

Ingenious Advertising

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Grab the widget, spread the sneak-peek and help others enter the sweepstake. I don’t think any other movie has left me with so much curiosity, and to be quite honest, I will not stop laughing if it turns out to be crappy. Just one more month before its release.

Wii Will Rock You

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

This is a less expensive gift for the holidays. The metal case you see pictured on the left is actually a cigarette/money holder. I’m not a smoker, so I would only use it as a wallet. I believe you must get your bidding done though, because currently it’s only available on ebay for $12.99. I will update this post as soon as the seller responds about how many she has in stock, as it appears she herself made them. Please be aware that the seller is located in Hong Kong so it will take about 12 days to arrive. If you want to get your bidding on, follow the link: Wii Will Rock You Ebay Auction

WOW Character Brought to Life

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Currently, there is a site named, FigurePrints, that will recreate a physical replica of your WOW (World of Warcraft) character. They will do any character, with whatever attire you choose. I must say, these pieces look amazing. Granted, I’m not the expert, but you can visit both their site and gallery to see the works they’ve produced so far.

So how much is it? $99.99 plus shipping & handling anywhere in the US and Canada. This would make a great Christmas/Holiday present for a WOW disciple. The ordering process isn’t going to be easy though. These statues are in such high demand that you must first create an account with them, which will automatically enter you into the “drawings”. They open up requests every so often and only a few lucky people actually get chosen to give their character a physical form. If you don’t get chosen this round, you must sign up again. I wish you plenty of luck. Head over to the site now, the next opening for orders will be December 21st. I guess you should get your friend a back-up.

My Work Life

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

ISS Schedule SheetI am overall an optimistic and eclectic personality. I have my weird moments here and there, but at the end of the day, I are who I are. I hope people aren’t like me when they read blogs, judging every little grammatical error or misspelling [people should know that I do most of these things on purpose]. Anyway, at work I am the, “Deans Office Manager”, commonly known as, the secretary. But, I wanted to show people why I enjoy my job. If you click on the thumbnail, you’ll see what I’ve been spending my first night of freedom on. I’ve been creating ISS [In-School Suspension] schedules. I must say I love the way Word 2007 makes my schedules look. I am such a nerd when it comes to these things. I love making lists, schedules, excel files are my dream! LOL. :-D Now people will really think I’m weird.

FundeRazor ‘07

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

This holiday season, due to work/payment circumstances, I won’t be giving too much to my fellow friends and family. This makes me super sad because I tend to love Christmas shopping, but this year is especially difficult. I know people don’t necessarily expect something from me, but I honestly love giving. Anyway, since I won’t be able to give too much in the monetary sense of the word, I’m always up for some form of volunteering or donating to local shelters, etc. It turns out there was a FundeRazor today. I’ve never heard of this organization or what they’re about, but I happen to read up on them through one of the sites I frequent. It turns out that this fundraiser is in direct collaboration with Child’s Play. The following is a statement from their site:

Since 2003, over 100,000 gamers worldwide have banded together through Child’s Play, a community based charity grown and nurtured from the game culture and industry. Over two million dollars in donations of toys, games, books and cash for sick kids in children’s hospitals across North America and the world have been collected since our inception.

This year, we have continued expanding across the country and the globe. With over 45 partner hospitals and more arriving every month, you can be sure to find one from the map above that needs your help! You can choose to purchase requested items from their online retailer wish lists, or make a cash donation that helps out Child’s Play hospitals everywhere. Any items purchased through Amazon will be shipped directly to your hospital of choice, so please be sure to select their shipping address rather than your own.

When gamers give back, it makes a difference!

The first thing I want to say is, people always claim that gamers are lazy bastards who don’t contribute to society. Clearly a misrepresentation [though we could still very well be lazy, who isn't?], but especially now, video games are making strides in today’s society and the presence of an organization like this is a true testament to our efforts of delivering a little holiday cheer to children in need.

It turns out that the FundeRazor was today in Brooklyn. The event started at 8pm and will continue to midnight tonight. Turns out its at Barcade, a not too shabby bar filled with lots of classic arcade games, hence the name. I wish I’d known about it sooner, because I would’ve loved to attend. The entrance price is [was] $10 at the door goes to the Child’s Play organization and automatically enters you in the goodie giveaway. An additional incentive? Hit the jump to see….

I got a favicon!!

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

You know when you open up a website, let’s use myspace as an example. This is purely do to the fact that its the largest networking site. When you open up myspace, if you’ve got firefox and know how to use the tabs option– you see a little image on the left side of the title page. Well, I’ve been racking my brain trying to do give my site a favicon <– it’s “official” name. Well today, thanks to the lovely Kris, creator of MIMIJUDE, and the power of google; I have managed to get an icon up. It’s a work in progress right now. Currently, I will be using Shawnimal’s fatty cake ninja, it’s one of my favorite drawings. But, soon enough I will have my own unique icon. Also, if you run a site through wordpress and would be interested in doing the same. Contact me for help, I’ll be more than happy to assist. I’m aware that as I’m writing this, half of you never even noticed or cared for that matter, but it goes to show how much of a nerd I am. =) Check out the pic:

Fav Image

Do you see my little ninja? Like I said I will be changing this real soon, especially since classes are officially over and now only need to worry about my research papers due next week and 3 finals!

So additional things I wanted to mention. I have gotten my MimiJude Hi./Rawr! t-shirt and will post pictures of it sometime this week. Also, I still need to write about the Kaniza show and share some pictures. [NICBROWN- this means I will be writing about you too!] I still need to write my Junot Diaz book review and finish reading Palahniuk’s Invisible Monsters, which is completely addictive. I am sending some goodies to people tomorrow. This includes the Uglydoll notebook, I’m sorry they’re not in your hands yet, and I am sending Denise a little surprise. ^_^ She has managed to get me intrigued in the world of “SWAP-BOTS”. Oh snaps… I shall write about it soon. I’m off to bed now, work is busy and people have become too dependable of me. Goodnight people.
