Happy New Year

Yay!! We’re 5 hours away from officially entering the year 2008!! I wish you the best tonight, and be safe, PLEASE!! You want to celebrate and make it through the new year. :-)

Notice some changes? Bare with me while I clean everything up. It takes a while. Have a great one, I’m out.

Passage

I will start this by saying: you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy the following ‘game’ (if it could be called that). My Mr. told me to google something named, Passage. So, I did. I went to the page where the game is available and I downloaded the windows version. I don’t want to give you any details, because my own Mr. didn’t give me any details and it made the journey even better. I can only ask that you trust I’m not trying to get you to download a virus, and that you take 5 minutes to play it. Believe me, it’s worth it. [Download Passage Here] Share your thoughts below.:-)

Oh Cyanide, you make me laugh…

Wii Mote

I know the Wii rocks more than the PS3… if you ever question this fact around me, please be prepared to face the consequences. ;-)

Alright, in terms of “next-gen” games, the PS3 is a better system– but in terms of all time fun, only the Wii fills that gap. Unfortunately, there really aren’t any titles I want to play on the PS3 and it’s sad since it’s been out for at least a year now. Oh wells, when Sing Star is released, I will happily tell my Mr. to boot that ‘P-to-the-S-to-the-3!’

Wall-E

Wall-E

I believe I’ve written before how much I look forward to watching Pixar’s newest movie. It’s due out next year, which by the way is just around the corner. What plans do you guys have? I’m still not sure myself. Anyway, I wanted to share the newest picture available on the internet [I know, I'm late-- I'm trying to catch up here]. I’m going back to watching Anime: Drawing a Revolution. Starz is featuring this documentary and I must admit it’s really good. I enjoy anime myself, but I really love learning about the origins of things. If you’re into anime yourself, I would recommend you watch it. You’ll definitely feel a lot of nostalgia if you grew up with these, now popular, iconic characters which include; Transformers, Speed Racer, Astro Boy, Akira, etc.

Baby Madison

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

I am a horrible friend. I should’ve posted this a week ago, and haven’t. My friend, known to the world of gamers as “pimpsc00by” has given birth to a very beautiful baby girl. Her name, Madison Peyton Augustin. She was due Christmas day, and was in such a hurry to come out for presents that she sped the birth to Monday December 18th. I hope I didn’t write the date. Check her out.

I totally stole this image from her daddy’s myspace. Congratulations to the both of them. This baby is a whole borough away from me, but I love her from a distance. YAY!!

Just Keep Clicking

This year, I became very aware of the art that surrounds me. It began with my addiction to vinyls, which then opened the window to canvas, prints, photography, etc. I was always somewhat art motivated, but I feel this year I really did my best to actively participate in this community. I’ve gone to a couple of shows the past couple of months and I have enjoyed taking pictures of the shows and sharing these pictures with my flickr community. Along with my participation in the arts, I have also been reading a lot more designer blogs. Some of my favorites are listed to your right, in my blogroll. Thanks to my addiction to those blogs, I’ve become a lot more aware of the work that people put into websites, apartments, workspace, anything.

One of my favorite websites of the year is the Good Things Should Never End site. It’s a never-ending journey. Well, it ends, but it’s fun to go through all the interactive games and the drawings are super kawaii! Well, Zune and it’s websites are my second choice for site [s] of the year. First, I became an addict for Zune-Arts.net, which hosts creative videos and art. I’ve been all over the place these past couple of weeks, that I hadn’t visited the site in a while. Well, they’ve changed their style, and it’s very reminiscent of the Good Things site. Check out the screen shot.

Zune Arts Screenshot

The characters are all lined up and slowly scroll through. You can click on them to see the video they’re in, or the prints. Clicking on them will also lead you the artist’s page and some downloadable content. To check out this site, follow this link: Zune-Arts dot net

Finally, the new Zune software has added a very cool feature that allows me to share a “zunecard” with my friends. You don’t need to own a Zune to use the software, so I recommend you download it and check out how pretty it is. An example of the zunecard is also located to your right. That design comes directly from the Zune website, but there are plenty of other designs out there. Well, when I went to log on to the online Zune ’social’, I noticed they’ve added a Zune Journey site. It’s slightly interactive also, and it’s very similar to the Good Things site too. Check out the screenshot too:

Zune Journey

With your mouse, just click on the page and hold. Move forward or backwards to go through the different Zune features. I hope I’m not making things confusing, but the opening image is a Zune player, the menu includes; music, videos, radio, podcasts, pictures. When you scroll through the site, each menu option has it’s own world. As you can see in the screenshot above the podcasts world has GIANT stars. :-)

Well, this post went in a completely different direction and I no longer remember what the point was. I definitely wanted to share the great job Zune is doing. I’m going away now… sorry this lost its point. ;-)

Wii Mods

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

Rockstar WiiI’m not sure how many people tune into gaming sites, but if people recall, two-weeks ago a number of sites wrote about the R* (Rockstar Games) Custom Wii. I must admit that the design was pretty sleek. One of my buddies actually posted those pictures first. Anyway, if I recall correctly, I believe the mod was a gift for someone in the company. Well, today I was over at /film and they’ve reported on another Morpheon Mods mod someone else has commissioned as a present for Kevin Smith. Check out the pic:

Kevin Smith’s Wii

I was impressed with the work that was put into their R* Wii, but this takes it to another level. Smith’s infamous Clerks characters are aligned on the side of the Wii for pete’s sake. I’ve been to Morpheon Mods’ site before, they’re responsible for the Zelda DS and a God of War PSP (though I wasn’t as excited since I’m not into both games). I’m hoping that they’ll consider doing a Resident Evil mod. If I could afford it, I’d love to buy it for my Mr. who’s a BIG fan. Anyway, check out more images at Morpheon Mods.

Munny: Bomberman Edition

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

I would like to go on the record and say that Munny’s are my favoritest vinyl. Dunnys are awesome too and clearly the shape that has put Kid Robot on the map, but I like monkeys more than I like bunnies x) With that said, I also have a great appreciation for the unique works that people create with the munny form. I myself tried to do a custom munny, problem is, I went into it rather blind. I didn’t know about the prep work and other valuable tips to create my own artwork. Anyway, there are a couple of sites that focus on customs and I really want to expand my “customs” category. I think I may start posting weekly custom jobs. To start this trend on my site, I will share this kick-ass custom that Plastic and Plush wrote about.

Bomberman Custom Munny

Do you recognize him? If you play video games, the nostalgia is instant, but if you don’t- the little guy above is Bomberman!! I thought the artist did an amazing job, though– my Mr. has commented on how the little (=’s) make him look sad. If you didn’t play this during it’s early years of existence, no worries. I own a ps2 version, which I believe is still on sale– but I really recommend purchasing the xbox live version. Signing on and then killing all your friends is loads of fun. You can set up custom games and there are a number of ‘maps’ available. Look for it. Message me if you want to play, my gamertag is :sakiwaki
