The Sadness SDCC Brings

Okay, I don’t believe I’ve ever in my life tried so hard to attend an event as I have been trying with this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Every night for the past 3 weeks I have been online trying to get a flight under $400 and now that Comic Con has arrived I am overwhelmed with the sadness of not being able to go. Why did I want to go to Comic Con in the first place? It wasn’t for the comics, it was all about the exclusive vinyls! Gosh, I am such an addict and I don’t know how to get help. I got the Mr. addicted too, or so he blames me… I am trying to distract myself from the Comic Con weekend that begins in half an hour, but going through my google reader is not helping. Here are the following news:

Apparently Vinyl Pulse has reported the following opportunity:

In order to meet the needs of serious art toys collectors, MINDstyle has introduced its Art Toy Society and revealed the details of the VIP Membership. Limited to 300 worldwide members, the one year $200 VIP membership fee includes:

  • The convenience of being able to purchase exclusive convention limited editions (even if you’re not attending the convention) — while they last.
  • Free quarterly product guide
  • Special limited edition releases exclusively for Art Toys Society members
  • 10% off all pre-orders
  • Plus: two Michael Lau x Mindstyle SDCC exclusive figures — M076 Future and M077 Womax. These black on black exclusive figures are included with the VIP membership and will not be available for sale directly. The only way to get these special figures is by purchasing a MINDstyle Art Toys Society VIP Membership.

MINDstyle Art Toyss Society VIP Memberships will be available at SDCC during show hours starting on Wednesday, July 26th @ 6 PM PDT and through electronic email to info@1045showroom.com.

This makes me super happy, but it also brings me down because it continues to torture me about Comic Con. Check out the site for more details: Vinyl Pulse
