Rolito Kids are trying to play the DS lite, originally uploaded by saki-waki.

I needed to share this with the world stat! I mentioned in a previous post that I got myself a few vinyls this weekend. Do you know what’s more exciting than getting new vinyls? Photographing them!!! Oh snaps! Here is one of my favorite shots from the new batch of photographs. There is another one of Ice T reading a book, that I also love; but this shot has all my Rolitoland friends. Check out my flickr for more shots. By the way, the Rolitoland Safari packs come in 2 for $17.99– you can check them over at: My Plastic Heart

Also, I started a new group in flickr. If you have an account and you love toys; go join!

Bearbrick Fashion

So, I don’t think of myself as the most fashion oriented person. I like what I like to wear whether its in or not. As of lately though, since I must own all toys (not really, but you get my addiction) I immediately began to look up these cool garments:

I love these shirts… and what’s that? A bearbrick? Take a closer look:

This Bearbrick is so damn kick ass!! OMG! It’s red and its wearing Levis.

If you want to check more photos from this collaboration check them over at Hype Beast. Currently, I am not at all interested in the pants, I just really want the shirts and the bear; now if I need to buy the pants to get the bear then I will! They’re due for release in August, how much they’re going to be, I have no idea. There is no info on pricing yet, but I’ll keep you updated.

A little Twitter Intro.

I’m not sure how much people know about the mini blogging site named Twitter. I joined not too long ago, thanks to Grim Santo– he introduced me to the world of a blog in 140 characters or less and sometimes it’s tougher than it seems. Anyway, I especially fell in love with it when they provide badges to place on your sites and stuff. A while ago, I no longer remember how long ago I got a message that someone named “twitter mosaic” was now a follower. As in, he added me to his list of people who’s mini blogs he reads. I was happy, as whenever I get a new “follower” on any site I feel like what I write matters. I checked out his twitter and then followed a website. Turns out, he takes the icons of his twitter buddies and uses them to make picture mosaics! OMG!! Now, I make physical mosaics and I must admit its tough. Sometimes clipping a circle, or making things fit just right– it can get a little busy and painful; but making photo mosaics is something I just couldn’t master. Twitter Mosaic though, I am highly impressed with the works that they have created. Check it out and then stop by their site to see more images….

This weekend, I ended up completing my Gorillaz collection. Finally! When I first bought Noodle, I bought her over at Urban Outfitters for a mere $15; she was on sale. I stopped by FP (Forbidden Planet) this weekend to pick up my Mr.’s Choco and Minty GID set, and then I spotted them. They were only $17.99- so I got them all! Now I need to search for the two-tone Gorillaz set.

[1-18-08] A Photo Peak

Now, I am currently intrigued to know what’s up with this movie codename: Cloverfield/1.18.08. I think it’s filmed in a neat way, everyone has hand cameras; and I want to know what monster chopped Liberty’s head off. If you still don’t know what movie I’m talking about, I suppose its alright because you’re not missing out on any information. All that is known is that something in attacking NYC, and we’re introduced to some characters during a surprise party. Anyway, when I logged on to my flickr today one of my contacts (strictly for photo sharing, not a friend) posted a new picture; this is what it was:

1.18.08

If you want to see a close-up, feel free to click the image to go to Toys-R-Evil’s flickr page. (note: click on “all sizes”)

The bottom right corner, is Liberty’s head– also known as: the image that caught Erika’s attention. Check out more reads here: ToysREvil

Hola Peeps…

I’m not sure if any of you are into Halo, and if you are; I’m not sure if you’re into collecting Halo figurines. If you’re not, well– I suppose its okay, I can’t do anything about it. But, if you are into collecting figurines and video game related toys, then I bring exciting news. A while back I read up on Kotaku that Corgi International was lucky enough to strike a deal with the Halo 3 peeps. I don’t know who Corgi International is, but the gun caught my attention.

Well, now– thanks to the wonders of Comic Con and Gamerscore Blog’s photos; I bring a news update of the merchandise. How much are they going to be? I do believe I read something along the lines of $19.99… but I could be wrong. Check out more photos over at: Gamerscore Blog’s Flickr

The Sadness SDCC Brings

Okay, I don’t believe I’ve ever in my life tried so hard to attend an event as I have been trying with this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Every night for the past 3 weeks I have been online trying to get a flight under $400 and now that Comic Con has arrived I am overwhelmed with the sadness of not being able to go. Why did I want to go to Comic Con in the first place? It wasn’t for the comics, it was all about the exclusive vinyls! Gosh, I am such an addict and I don’t know how to get help. I got the Mr. addicted too, or so he blames me… I am trying to distract myself from the Comic Con weekend that begins in half an hour, but going through my google reader is not helping. Here are the following news:

Apparently Vinyl Pulse has reported the following opportunity:

In order to meet the needs of serious art toys collectors, MINDstyle has introduced its Art Toy Society and revealed the details of the VIP Membership. Limited to 300 worldwide members, the one year $200 VIP membership fee includes:

  • The convenience of being able to purchase exclusive convention limited editions (even if you’re not attending the convention) — while they last.
  • Free quarterly product guide
  • Special limited edition releases exclusively for Art Toys Society members
  • 10% off all pre-orders
  • Plus: two Michael Lau x Mindstyle SDCC exclusive figures — M076 Future and M077 Womax. These black on black exclusive figures are included with the VIP membership and will not be available for sale directly. The only way to get these special figures is by purchasing a MINDstyle Art Toys Society VIP Membership.

MINDstyle Art Toyss Society VIP Memberships will be available at SDCC during show hours starting on Wednesday, July 26th @ 6 PM PDT and through electronic email to info@1045showroom.com.

This makes me super happy, but it also brings me down because it continues to torture me about Comic Con. Check out the site for more details: Vinyl Pulse

The Weekend (7-22-07)

This weekend, DVR was my hero. My Mr. has DVR in his home so he was in charge of recording the World Series of Pop Culture on VH1. He came to the rescue and we watched approx. 9 hrs of pop culture madness. We’ve decided that next year maybe Gene, himself, and I will try to compete. We of course haven’t told Gene that he’s part of the team, he just is. The Geeks won, better known as “Twisted Misters”. They were the youngest team and did an awesome job; they also happened to all be from NY and that was the important part. We rule!!

Once we finished our 9 hr. marathon we played some Bomberman; now available on XBL; and I should admit I didn’t do too well. I sucked actually, I need to freshen up on my skills, but the game is still as awesome as I remember it to be.

Today, meaning Sunday, we watched some Flight of the Conchords. I must say that I was quite resistant about watching this show in the beginning, but this show is a lot better than I thought it would be. The humor is subtle and its that kind of dry type of “British” humor, does that make sense? Anyway, if you get a chance check out the show. It’s on HBO Sunday nights at 10pm. I’m going to play now, Buh-bye!

Space Invader Sneakers… Needed to share!

As soon as I saw these sneakers, which was approximately 40 seconds ago… I knew I needed to share. I am getting paid this week and one of the very first things I hope to order are the black version of these sneakers, they’re only available in black or red; and I’m not a huge fan of red. Currently the sneakers cost $120.00 and they are available through the Giant Robot store.

The site says the following:

These shoes look good AND they make you a part of the whole Space Invader game. The treads on the shoe have an alien and the words “10 Points” in relief so that every time you walk on sand, wet paint or wet cement, you’ll leave a print. It’s really clever.

I am navigating through the Giant Robot shop right now and I have come to the realization that they only have 2 sizes right now, mens size 8.5 and 11. DAMN my woman sized feet! I’ll keep you updated when more sizes are available.
